Default My trip to NYC

I recently went to NY from December 21-25. I suprised my GF on Thanksgiving and told her we were going to New York for Christmas. I haven't been since I went with my parents when I was 14 and she has never been. She's always wanted to go and she loves Christmas time, so I thought what better way to suprise her and propose up there while I'm at it. We stayed in Manahattan...The New Yorker to be exact. We had a blast! We did a ton of walking. We only took the subway once because my gf at the beginning of the trip, fiancee by the end, wasn't comfortable doing it and I wanted to see as much of the city as possible. Hope you all enjoy the pictures...I took 371 of them with my XTi and 269 with her Canon SD770IS.

Day 1, I used Lauren's Canon SD770IS

Day 2 with my XTi, we walked from our hotel on 34th up to 72nd in Central Park, where they were having "The Hills" taping at Tavern on the Green.

Macy's on 34th. Wholey poop, it was crowded!

The high was 27 that day

We sure do look like we are from Florida...

That's kind of where I proposed

Day 3 with my XTi: we took the subway down to Battery Park and you can kind of tell our track...we went to Ground Zero, the Brooklyn Bridge, China Town and Little Italy, through Union Square to the Flat Iron Building, and then finally the Empire State Building. A straight through walk from beginning to end is 6.5 miles, so we walked A LOT that day!

Panoramic on top of the Empire State building...where all these next photos were taken. It was quite difficult shooting with no tripod and the high that day was 19 with wind chills at 0 to -15 degrees!

Very nice pictures, makes the city look so clean.
I always wonder what it's like to experience NYC as a tourist.
Sadly, I will never know.

Haha, of course she said yes!

How I proposed:

I bought her a Juicy Couture engagement ring necklace which she has wanted for ahwhile

I put my ring on it

And wrapped it as a gift. When we were shopping at the Juicy Couture store, Lauren bought a purse and some earrings. Each time you picked an item out, the salesperson would put it behind the cash registers with your name on it. So when Lauren wasn't looking, I gave the salesperson the wrapped present and told them to put it with her other things. When we were checking out, she noticed the wrapped package and got all excited. She loves Christmas! So we walk out of the store and she asks when she can open it. I tell her it's Christmas Eve, so you have to open it by a tree. So we go to the Rockefeller Center where they have a nice display up with a few photographers from NBC out there.

So I tell the photographer I'm going to propose. So we get in front of the camera and she starts opening the gift, while the photographer starts taking pictures. When she notices the real ring on the necklace, her eyes got bigger than than beautifully already are and that's when I got down on one knee. It was awesome! She said yes and was crying liked crazy...happy tears of course! We bought 3 pictures: 1 on my knee, 1 of us kissing, and 1 of us looking at the ring. My parents have them back home for now, so I can't post them
