I never understood people feeling a huge increase in power after adding a small exhaust mod. it's hardly noticeable ;(

Well, if Tony at Motordyne uses 3" and says it makes the best power (which I believe he said somewhere) then 3" works.

it looks like the midpipe is touching the aluminum heat sheild, could be set up for some annoying rattles. maybe not though, just looks like it to me. 3 inch is pretty extreme for na, but looks good.

Congrats, but how much can you really feel? Say the average 03-05 is about 230 or so RWHP depending on the dyno, and at BEST you make 10HP from the exhaust (and thats on the high end). That's a .04% increase... that's a good butt dyno.

Glad you're happy with it in any event (that's what counts), looks good.

actually now that you pointed it does look like its touching in the picture, but its not anywhere near it. I have no problems with any rattling.

Will see if I can get a sound clip on my camera, dont know how to load it up but I will figure it out.

i was told that when you put a true dual on and its 2.5 a side that would be equivilent to having 5in of flow so id say that 3 is reasonable? sick setup though

by any chance did you buy this muffler off a guy in Southern Cali? lol

I'm going to have to say with HFC's this thing is going to be waaaay loud. I already thought it was too loud with stock cats. Glad to see you found a shop that welded it up nice.

Guys, I got to hear his exhaust in person, when we had to meet and his exhaust was loud and sounded nice! It also looked good. The non-mandrel bends will not effect exhaust flow at all on a 3 inch exhaust.

i've had the dual setup with 3' running all the way through with those exact same mufflers and i have to say japtrix did an incredible job on the piping including painting it black to blend with the underbelly of my beast. Car is in the shop now for some body work i'l post pics and maybe if one of you guys havent done the sound clip i'l put one out.

Now maybe i hit the right thread you think the strosek rear bumper can be modified to fit the gigantic hks mufflers? here is a thread on the bumper...btw dont mean to hijack, which i dont think i am lol.
