Mike, what are you going to do for the undertray?

That piece doesn't look like it will extend all the way.

mike, that finisher looks GREAT. but does it connect to the rest of the factory undertray? i beleive you need to secure the bottom section of that bumper so it doesnt get torn off...

why didn't you make it an actual under tray to replace the stock one, or does it fit with that bumper so is therefore unnecessary?

I hate looking at bodykits and being able to see the ground through the front inlet.

The screws up front connect, but not the corner sides. You won't be be able to see the space at the sides since the space is so minute.

Acually it's the 06' and up models that match up. The good thing about this bumper is that the area where the undertray and finisher meet, it's covered by the top of the lip because it extends far in towards the radiator. That way the gap on the sides don't show.

I plan on installing it next week, but I won't be able to drive it til around the middle part of the month as I am scheduled to have new clear bra applied. This time I'm going to do more areas of the car. After paying so much for paint, I figure I invest in some protection because IF is ef'n expensive

I've seen prices range from specials as low as $500 and up to $1,000. It varies depending on what areas of the car you want covered. I believe if its just a front bumper its around $350-$400.

I am getting a new bumper installed as well as painting my CF hood and probably blending the fenders... I was going to ask them to do an extra coat or two of clear. Do you think extra clear coat would provide additional protection against rock chips?

I think it would look a little better than the clear bra, but thats my other option...

adding more clear will not make it any stronger. if anything, it would make it show up easier. usually, you want to go with three coats of clear. i remember down at the body shop, there was this expensive clear coat that they sold from european cars to help with rock chips on the autobahn's high speeds. It's a very hard clear...better for rock chips, harder for detailers to buff out.

It's actually not a good idea to add additional clear to the front. If a rock or something hits it at high speed you will get spider cracks and those are worse. I saw a video a while back that shows how strong the clear bra is upon impact at a certain speed with small pebbles/rocks and it holds up very very well. The clear bra acts similar to a rubber guard for the bumper. A few years ago I hit some ply wood shreds falling off a truck on the freeway driving at about 80mph. When I stopped to check my bumper I thought there was going to be a crack or dent. As I brushed off the ply wood pieces the bumper looked as if it was untouched. I've had my clear bra since I bought my car brand new (2006) and there's not a single spec of chip, scratch, or dent til this day
