John(Dem1k) wanted a shoot before he parted out his car last week. He was local so I decided to help him out. The weather as all of you know, was pretty bad with rain ruining some days we were shooting. And we only had a couple days since he was goign to sell his wheels on Thursday. Anyway, the buyer backed out and we got time to finish. Still editing the pics, so many to go through. His preference for many of the shots was HDR so here is a little tease. HDR FTMFW!!!!
Ive been meaning to ask you AH, when you make your HDR shots, do you use different exposures or the single exposure using a raw image technique. Looks good!

Im not sure if i understnad correctly. Why woudl u only use RAW with a single image. ALL hdr shots should be shot in RAW format. And I use multiple exposures instead of one and manually changing teh exposures with photoshop. If you use a single exposure then it's not really goign to come out looking any different than a normal pic that hasn't been HDR'd except it might be grainy. Key is multiple exposures and RAW. Good luck

So you take one shot in Raw and then save it a couple more times with different exposures? I dont use RAW, I just shoot the same image on my tripod 3 to 5 times and manually adjust the exposure on my camera and then combine them in photomatix. But you can use photomatix to convert one RAW file into HDR and it wont look bad. The only reason that I would use photoshop to adjust the exposure for HDR is if it was a moving object, otherwise I take the pics manually with different exposures. Im going to start using RAW from now on and see what I get. Thanks for answering that for me dude, keep up the good work.

Oh ok i see what your saying now. For moving objects you will have to use the technique you are referring to but for still shots best resutls come from manuel exposures shot in RAW. I usually shoot 7 pics(3 over 3 under and 1 normal instead of the 3 that people use. Comes out nice. Can't wait to see your next attempt, definetly pm me if you need any help
Thanks AH, Ill def try the RAW next time. The only reason Ive stayed away from it is because of how much space they take up. Where is the rest of those pics!!!

Yea they take up space but jsut get a bigger memory card, they are really cheap now. I think for this shoot I took 1000 RAW images and that's on a 16G memory card.
And as for the pics....I'm hiding them in my basement with chains across my laptop
jk, got some done but I'm still working on a majority of them. Probably going to have around 20-25 edited pics when I'm done.

No my tails aren't smoked. I did go on the 134 last Thursday for a G35 meet with my friend but that was at night time.
