Not feeling the phantom lip at all.

 

haha I know most Z's I have seen have horrible wheels with even worse offsets. There's a only a handful of nicely built ones.

I don't see the point in "phantom" lips. The way I see it, the whole point of lower offsets is to show off the lip. Get the lip stripped down and polished ASAP! Maybe paint the lug nuts black or get new ones. Red and gold doesn't work so well.

 

There is too much contrast with the white, gold and black. I love black phantom lips all around, if you do that, you car would set off a lot more. I love though that it is original which to me is important.

 

So what exactly are you saying? He painted them black which is considered, "phantom." You went from saying to much contrast to saying you love them. Might want to clarify

 

+1 on the stripe. I like them either way.

It would only take like $400 to strip and repolish them anyways..so I guess in reality I would be paying $3k with tires if I got them repolished. I got money to throw around like that

You've got a few issues in play. Weak offsets being on the top of the list.
Are they 8.5/9.5? I have debated pricing with ST on a few items, as he always
seems to be a bit unrealistic. Did they come with tires? I would also argue that
these are not the most desirable wheel style. Since they've been repainted,
refinished, etc - that also reduces their overall value.

I think your money could have been better spent elsewhere.

That said, if they make you happy, that's all that matters.

 

^^there ya go, thats a little more fair...they are 9.5 front 10.5 rear...+25 front +28...came with tires with around 80-90% tread. Its good thing Iv had a set of 10mm and 15mm spacers...those are definetly going on once I get the camber adjsuted and the alignment redone. I suppose wanting gold sf challenges since I have had the car didnt help my patience..I finally had some cash and it was spent...Im an impatient bastard.

 

Any updates? Pictures do not do them justice. Saw this car by semoran and howell branch. The ppw matched with the gold n black lip looked great. But must admit i had to take a couple looks before I could discern there was a black lip, I get the point the other owners make about it lookin like all tire depending on the angle. But overall looks very original and decent. The red lugs probably a lil too much tho. Just keep the white black n gold theme.

 

Nice car. Can't wait to see it finished.

 

I would love to see this wheel setup on my Silverstone, I think it would look killer.
