Is my car Magazine Quality?
#43
The car is magazine quality.. like 2 years ago...
unfortunately the 350z is old news now.. mags prefer newer cars or people with connections to the industry.. You gotta have a pretty special and distinct car if you are an ordinary person's 350z trying to to make it into a magazine these days
It's nice Z though..

car isn't complete (no rear skirts), and they generally don't like black cars for features. hard to shoot and doesn't 'pop' on the cover.
though I see that changing.
I like the car though.

he has the do luck rear bumper and diffuser peice. the second batch of pics he posted is old pics of his car before his do luck kit.

yes...dont change anything...except the engine bay...id say get better looking strut bar, jdm engine harness, good looking catch can, wire tuck, that would be a good start...the outside of the car looks amazing, and its probably retarded fast, but no one will want you in a magazine unless your engine bay looks top notch...
good job!
good job!

I come to see that hitting the mag is isnt about how your car appears, but who your contacts are! I've seen some shitty cars, but they're employed with "industry insider X" or "automotive manufacturer Z", never is it the regular guy.

Nice car but i agree our platform is old news and your car is awesome but is it different that they have done before here is Nitrouz s car it was/is a magazine car is yours better than his? I am not saying either way but if not you likely wont make any of the mags he has been in but this is what it takes for a black 350z to make it.
It started out as a 35th anniversary 350Z, still has the "Plaque" on the car. One of the most famous and powerful personally owned Z's in the world. Feel free to google "420z-tt" for more information.
Been on 4 magazines including 2 covers (Jtuned, Nissan Sport Magazine, Performance Auto & Sound, D-Sport Magazine), and a lot of custom parts. Over $150,000 invested.

One, you have a black car. You can pretty much count out Import Tuner and Super Street. They rarely if ever feature black cars. Modified is one mag that does feature black cars, quite often too.
Two, not to sound mean, but your car doesn't have anything that stands out from other cars that have been featured. The Do-Luck kit is awsome, but I know of at least 2 Z's that have made mag with it. Greddy twins, and built motor have been featured in mags.
My best suggestion is build your car for your enjoyment and don't get caught up in trying to get into a magazine. It's a great looking car man.

Its mag quality, but you def need a new color on the car. Sorry to say but I know for a fact they dont like black cars as a cover car. Contact import tuner or such other mags and ask them what it takes.

You've got all the components for a magazine featured car, it's just unfortunate that the things you've done have already been done before. Please don't let me discourage you though. Just hoping to give some advice so you won't be heart broken because a magazine won't feature your ride.
One thing to look for though are when magazines do Reader's ride issues.
