For one thing, nothing can prepare you for the real thing. You can play it on Gran Turismo all you want and yes it is accurate to the smallest details, but there are two things missing.
One is the actual feel, as in the cornering forces and drops and climbs your body feels and the sense of actual speed.
The other thing is fear, when you think you may have entered a corner slightly hot and in your head it's "OH-****-OH-****-OH-****!!!"
But anyway, it was my first ever lap on the Nordschleife and it had rained earlier in tje day, so I was gonna take it easy anyway.
It was on a weekday, so that was a plus as it wasn't very busy and I only got overtaken by two full blown racecars, a Porsche and a BMW.
I managed a 12 minute lap and am just pleased to have driven on the legendary track that is the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
I will definitely visit this track again.

Because technically speaking, the Nordschleife is classed as a toll road.
You can drive anything on there as long as it has the ability to reach a minimum speed of 60 mph.

Just roll up any day of the week, check public track access times beforehand tho, pay 24 Euros per lap and off you go.
If you buy more laps then one, then there are discounts for lap-packs.
