ok ok... so I was going to work on the dash and more pieces this last weekend, but I ended up running into some issues at home and only got the shift boot done (black suede with REAL kevlar stitching). The downside is that the kevlar stitching is actually pretty fine, which doesn't bother me too much, but it does make it look a little "cheap".
I will be doing the suede with kevlar stitching over the cubby door as well as the 3 gauge covers at the top of the console. The rings around the gauges, climate controls and shift boot are all going to be wrapped in real carbon fiber. The scheme of the interior has been milled over several times within the last couple of weeks before deciding on using less Kevlar, a LOT more suede and a few carbon fiber accent pieces.

So I updated the dash a little and worked on the rear cover this last weekend.
The rear "Z" did not come out as I had hoped, but will pass for now.
Sneak peek of some things that are waiting to go in:
uh oh

A quick test fit of the front lip. The edges within the wheel well will have to be pulled in a little, but no big deal (4/16).
Let the work begin.
After 2 coats of epoxy resin
I have to pick up the AX8 - Brickyard paint on Friday (4/19). My goal is to be something a little like this:
This is what was accomplished last night (4/17):
trimmed excess:
Test fit again, but now with Kevlar:
Sanded, fixed a few problem areas, another layer of epoxy:
Let it cure, let it cure:
Tonight, I have to sand and do the last coat of epoxy. I'm having some REALLY high hopes for this project!

Looking good. I like what you did with the rear strut bar cover. You have some skillz.
Want to do a front bumper? LOL

All of the Kevlar is being scrapped. Moving on with Carbon Fiber. hahaha Ordered about 6 yards of carbon fiber, more epoxy and looking to get the Nismo V2 front bumper.
Goal:
Still have to finish up the diffuser layout and turn into carbon fiber as well. Debating on carbon fiber door handle overlays or just going with black chrome to match the Nissan/350Z emblems. HOPEFULLY this will all be done by the end of summer. Still need to get the entire exhaust, intake pieces, more suspension and trade my fixed Momo racing seats for some adjustables (I'm too big for the fixed position seats except the Buddy Club wides) ramble ramble ramble
Goal:
- Trade someone my rear Z Bar for a stock one, wrap the new one in carbon fiber
- Rewrap the dash in carbon fiber
- Paint all the "aluminum/gray" highlights brickyard (except the door handles)
- Wrap the front lip and canards of the bumper in carbon fiber
- Order a carbon fiber HR hood, Asuka Roof (or VIS GT roof) and a carbon fiber hatch
- The Blitz carbon fiber spoiler
- A carbon fiber roof spoiler

EDIT: Oh yeah, some pictures with the Kevlar lip installed:
toying with settings on my phone:
One of the things that I do locally is Vinyl Work (hence the MeinVinyl) and I use vinyl to tint headlights/tail lights rather than paint so if you ever want to take it off, it's really easy. This is ORACAL Transparent vinyl, not window tint molded to lenses (which is a HORRIBLE idea as I've seen someone try it). So, I can't advertise locally, unless I have the stuff on my own car so... here it is:
This is how the 2012 Scion TC (customer's car) turned out; headlights, tail lights, 3rd brake light and indicators on the mirrors were all tinted:

After avoiding all the crazy drivers at Amercruise in Lincoln NE, I end up hitting a damn raccoon on I680 here in Omaha after a quick photoshoot!!! Looks like I will be buying a new bumper, splash guards and headlights.
Before:
then about 45 minutes later hit he raccoon. Took pictures the morning after to get better coverage of the damage.
snapped bumper:
some of the lip damage:
insurance has to buy an entire new headlight since the tab snapped on driver's side

Well, the car has been in the shop for the last week. The hood was just delivered today
Waiting on the phone call today to go pick up the Z with the new front end... Just ended up NOT doing the 06-08 headlights because the insurance company is going to "fix" my broken tab on the stock lights rather than replace. Excited to see.... Will post pictures as soon as I get it back.

So I finally got to pick up the car from the body shop. It was ALMOST how I wanted. The front grill was supposed to be black instead of all one color. They said take it for the weekend and decide. I can let them know Monday if I want it repainted. What do you guys think? Have it repainted or leave it all brickyard? I just don't like the tow hook area being body color. (Black tow hook on the way)
First picture was actually AFTER I cleaned up the headlights from the other two pictures that were taken earlier.
Then with a REAL camera

Yeah, I haven't been on in a minute, but here's a bit of an update. After having the new front end on the Z for about 2 months, an off duty police officer hit my car and then drove off. We found him and his insurance paid out. However, now I can't find the same bumper (full carbon for the 07-08) that doesn't have the slits in the top. I may end up buying the one that everyone has and filling the lines to match the hood, but it's still up in the air and I have all winter to think about it. In the meantime, here are some more pictures from over the last few months.

Motor work next, then suspension and 19x10.5/12
Exterior, if I ever do anything else to it, will be a blitz carbon spoiler, but that'd be it.
EDIT: and 06-08 headlights/tailights

Fun Project coming up. Ordering some black housing 03-05 350Z's head lights and going to pull the ones on my car as well as the headlights on my 2000 Civic and going to wrap the headlight housings in carbon fiber. Similar to what "Carbon Fiber Element" did on a 370Z:

So, last night I had to drive my Z because my Civic is currently broken. It was only supposed to be raining but while driving I started hearing what sounded like rocks hitting my car. Turned into a CRAZY hail storm and ruined the OEM hood, roof, hatch, fenders and driver's side door is pretty much killed. Waiting to hear back from the insurance company on how much they're going to give me to get it fixed. One estimate is at about $8500 so far....
