The preparation with newspaper is extremely sketchy. I dislike tinted tails.

 

Damn, lay off the guy. Some people like tinted tail lights, and if he used VHT, it takes a rag and some gas to wipe it all off. With gasoline it wipes off like water; Vinyl doesn't hold up for ****.

 

I wouldnt have blacked out my taillights if you couldn't see my lights. Maybe your Z is just broken if you can't see the bright *** lights that come from a Z's taillights when the brakes are pressed or even when just the lights are on. That picture down there with the lights on and it showing as bright as it is that is just the headlights being on with no one stepping on the brake. So if you can't see my lights you are blind. I personally don't care if the person behind me is thinking whether I have nice taillights or not I think it looks nice so thats what matters to me. I figured the black taillights would look good with my black rims which i Think looks good. Next I'm going to put a rear diffuser on and buy eibach springs to drop my car an inch.

 

Do your thing OP. If that pic is without you stepping on the brake pedal then Id say its bright enough.

Meh, I vinyl'd my lights and it looks just as good as when I first put them on. Granted I have the 03-05 lights but if I ever decide to get the LED's I am sure I will vinyl them as well. I can't stand the orange/red contrast (lemans orange).... Now if I had a silver car I would leave them be. At least you can always go back.
