Its honestly a great track to drive on. The off track portions are composed of nice dirt and grass(sometimes) and are so flat that going off doesn't mean doom.

So...I recently discovered some bad news.

I recently did another 3k oil change and discovered something unsettling. After removing my oil filter and draining the oil, I noticed small silver flakes. A couple were on the flat side of the filter and around 7 or so were in the old drained oil. I don't know what this could mean for my Z, but I'm sure its nothing good.

The car runs and drives beautifully and makes no unusual noises. I'll be driving the car another 1,000 miles on the fresh oil and collect a sample to send to Blackstone Labs. Hopefully they can tell me whats going on.

Might want to get your rod bearings looked at. Mine did this, and then very soon after it tossed a rod bearing completely and scoured the crank up real bad. It ended up being cheaper to swap a 25k motor in from Japan.

I was thinking it could be from the bearings. Another friend of mine with a DE experienced the same thing and sent a sample of his oil out to Blackstone Labs. They returned a report saying to not worry. For now I'll just have to wait and see what they say and update everyone.
