Some detail painting for BigBlue
So do you guys think that everything on my car that was painted the red should switch to black? It would look good IMO; I don't want to go back to silver emblems; not going to happen, same with handles, but I may consider going a bueno black color on them, etc. Go ahead and let me know your ideas; I personally would do a neat black on those items.
The red accents have to go. Pronto.
As for the blue/black accents. Those look nice because they blend in with the car. I'd get the red repainted black or blue or just plastidip them if you don't want to spend money on it again.

^ Thanks guys, it would be pretty easy now to switch colors; a lot of pre paint, sanding, etc. has been done, just a matter of getting the emblems off and the front louvers which only take a minute to remove.

I usually photoshop an idea before executing. If lacking ps skills, buy vinyl wrap and test it out first. You get an idea of what it looks like, barely any down time, a hell of a lot cheaper and less suffering from forum member judgment. lol If you want a low cost budget fix, buy Plastidip and spray the red parts. It's removable at a later time.
I'm not digging the red, but if you like it.. rock it for a bit I suppose?
I wouldn't do black either since..
1. Many people already do the blacked out look
2. It's hard to distinguish flow/design/shape when everything is black so color distinction is good.
3. Yeah... no to the red.

Use a hair drier and heat up behind the emblem real good, then use some fishing line, or you may have to resort to a gift card or credit card lol, just be careful and you won't mess your paint up.
Also wanted to add to my above post, black does contrast well against my dark blue paint, the black wheels, etc. If my car was black, I would have chosen non-black wheels. The blue really comes out in the sunlight, but gets dark when overcast or evening, it was a cloudy day and car looks very dark.

Sparco, I see the two grommets, pulled them off, bolts right there. Question: do the handles attach to anything or do they pop right out? I assumed that they must be attached to a lever, and therefore inside panels off etc. but if not that is good.

Sorry mate, it's staying. I wouldn't have posted pics of my car if I didn't really like it, so if I'm happy than that's that. You or others could post pics of their cars and I'm sure early on there would be things myself and others may not have done/bought, but I doubt I'd say anything neg. to 'em. Take 'er easy; hey, are you in the military? I saw the Bahrain on your post.
i really like ur setup.. and for sure i respect your taste..
if you like the red keep it no matter what pple say.. but for my personal taste, it would look better if you remove it.
good luck.. and wish you all the best in your build

I think the red/blue contrast is a little much Blue. I like the idea of doing something different though. If you are set against black you could do a dark gunmetal color that would keep an OEM look while being different. Or I think a dark gold could work too. Would have to photoshop first. Just look at common wheel color combos people use on SMB and work off that.
Only think I would make black would be the grill. But hey work seems to be of good quality so at least you are doing it the right way.
