Default Some detail painting for BigBlue

Just got my car out of the shop today, I had some custom detail painting done, plus my rear is now to it's lowest that can go on the Bilstein PSS10's. Some details of what was done: we came up with a custom color that is an off red. 4 emblems painted+clear coated, mirrors and that triangle part that attaches to doors painted to match my San Marino blue clear coated + polished, door handles painted clear coated, 350z emblem painted matte black, rear signal lights were white now smoked out, front reflectors were white now smoked out, "everything" inside of front grille that wasn't black before is all semi-gloss black to the radiator, front lip is sanded smooth gloss black clear coated, 2 louvers were sanded smooth and painted/clear coated, door handles and emblems that are painted +have small squares that now are tiny painted black for some accent, same with the 2 "Z" emblems by front wheel wells, etc.

Tail light covers have 9 coats of clear pearl that gives a unique look; dims the bright oem look to blend with the car's dark paint, a way to darken without going with black or smoke look.

I 'm thinking those red accents look really nice and the weird light reflection you got on your door handle shows up as the spotlights in the next photo. I really like the red horizontals on the front bumper and that's one hell of a polish you've got. My only criticism would be the red door handles, I'd have left them natural, I know that they wouldn't match anything but they'd break up all of the black. A good job done well SR71.

Love the new wheels and the mirror base being matched, but the red is a no go for me. Smoked reflectors also look nice, the red just screams cheap to me and until you made those changes I was really digging the new look and mods you did. But hey its your car so build it for you.

No, think you're trying too hard. It was perfect the way it is after you installed your brake kit. Also my rear looks lower than yours, it's maxed out on pss10 too

You made me sad for your Z. Black accents are good since it works with all colors. Red accents only work on certain wheels in the form of graphics. Paint everything red KH3 super black (not body color).

So you suggest with my SM (dark) body paint to go all black (emblems, handles, louvers in front)? It could be done and it would look nice, but I'm tired of so many cars that are blacked out; just wanted to be unique; I do really like the two front louvers however, just want something to add some "pop" and not look boreing.

Classic case of over-thinking your mods

I don't like the red at all but really like your setup otherwise

Also, this is not an engine thread so I am moving it to the Media Share

well the guy who owns the custom shop kept going over ideas and that got me going; I may talk to him about potentially switching things up. Not saying I wasn't over thinking, just want a good looking car that stands out from the rest. Thanks and it's fine to move the thread.

So do you guys think that everything on my car that was painted the red should switch to black? It would look good IMO; I don't want to go back to silver emblems; not going to happen, same with handles, but I may consider going a bueno black color on them, etc. Go ahead and let me know your ideas; I personally would do a neat black on those items.

Get a quality aero kit and switch out the wheels if you want to stand out. Don't get me wrong, the car looks great, the red is very difficult to pull off. It's like the guy who put racing stripes on his Z with chrome wheels, it just doesn't look right.

Black trim would look pretty cool However, I really liked how the clear front bumper reflectors looked before.
