You want to move to NY?!?! A shitty house that is falling apart with no land sells for 400,000 min. You then have to invest a lot more to get it to look decent and you have invest a hell of a lot more to make it large enough for an average 4 person family.

You want to be a "baller", stop paying rent!!!!! Rent kills you. Depending on certain things, you can own a house for same amount as rent. You can NOT be a ballar and pay rent at the same time if you are starting from nothing.

Yes, but a "good education" does not mean you will make "good money". Trust me on that one

Reggi...nice framing job. 2x6 exterior and looks like 2x10 ceiling and a bank vault foundation. Did you use spruce pine or southern yellow pine? Any engineered beams in there? I know the spruce is lighter and easier to nail, just curious.

I manufacture about 80MM board feet of SYP 2x4 and 2x6 down here in GA each year and ship all up and down the East coast. That's a well done frame up...should be there for awhile.

Yes, my framer's are the best. They really know the business and they are masters of framing. Its southern yellow pine.

the thing is, it is funny, I can rent a condo in Downtown SD for cheaper than I can own it right now.

My rent is less than your mortgage I bet, but the unit under me on the 18th floor is going for 1.1 million.

I cannot afford to buy in this market!

Maybe I should move to NY?

You must of got a good deal on that lot, it doesnt seem like the plantation house across the street belongs in that neighborhood. They try to keep the houses in my neighborhood uniform probably beause its gated and they want to keep the value up. But your house look pretty nice.......so does the old lambo
