And as far as slicks and fairness goes, then I can say the same about number of mods since I have less mods than most other Zs. Jotech and I are currently in the process of getting the details ironed out. But at any rate, it'll be a "race what you brung" event.

You and I both know the the number of NA mods on a Z mean nothing. Now as for performance mods go I have intake, spacer, headers, and exhaust. You have more than me with the mrev and Tp. So how is slicks fair?

Im down for bracket racing. Its no different than that we do, you just have to dial in and get as close to that as possible. Its a lot of fun.

Yea but then someone would not have an advantage. I say we just street race style and use the tree and win lights.

Either way, unless somebody wants to buy me new tires, I'm not running on streets, nor do I even see a reason to when I have slicks readily available. Travis, you even tried the slicks and you did better with streets. And Brian, you have DRs.

And unless you guys are running 13.5 on streets, I still see no reason to fight whether or not I run slicks or streets. Most likely, this event will stay as best time of the night, running what you brought. Plus, you guys can always run on slicks/dr's anytime you want to and are encouraged to, if you have access. Nobody's stopping you and you still got 3 weeks left. Plenty of time to order some new rubber.

Don't make this about winning or being number 1. The prizes are there as an incentive to mod your car more and attract a bigger crowd, not to start some pissing match. We want a friendly competition. If you guys can't keep it civil, then I see no reason for me and Jotech to even set up anything. It's not like I don't already go to the drag races by myself most of the time. If you can't win, then at least be there for the free entry and for fun. You will get your chance at the prize at another time.

Jessus chris did we hurt your feelings? Don't jump on me. We are just giving you shiit man. I did try slicks and for the three runs I did not get them to hook right. That is not to say I am better on street tires. I am just use to them. Why does the DRAG forum list show if you are on slick or street tires. Why do people use them. Because you can not go as fast on street tires.

We did not even know there were prizes.

I would just have different classes. That effect Drag racing:

Street - stock
Street - Modded
Slicks/DR
FI - to include NOS

It is called a level playing field.

Run what you brung then why have a FI class.

You want me to go buy slicks then what if I call up a mutal friend and offer him 600 for his slicks?

If this is for the fun of it then don't have prizes or places and just go race, have fun, and have a drawing for the prizes.

We're not going to have that many classes, for now. We barely have any attendance, if at all, already. If we have that many classes for however many (or little) people that show up, it'll just end up being like the ZOS's "car shows." Think of this time as more of a feeler to try and get more popularity for drag racing and work out the details for future events.

FI class may or may not even exist, depending on how many FIs will even be there. STi's and Evos will most likely be in our class, if we decide to include them in our competition. But again, that still hasn't been ironed out yet.

BTW, like you said, the drag forum only shows the people with slicks/drs. They don't have a separate list for street tires vs slicks. And no, nobody hurt my feelings. I'm just tired from work, dealing with certain people, and other life-related problems.

As far as the tree goes, I guess we can include the RT also. That'll make the racers concentrate more on not just lauching and shifting, but being ready for the green light. This'll also give stock cars a chance to go against the heavily modified. You guys want to try dial-ins, also, or would that be too complicated? It might be fun (redlight = dq, no matter how great your time may have been).

Tony, I meant to stop by today, but I was too tired from work. I'll stop by sometime next week or maybe I'll see you tomorrow at the cruise.

Sorry man. I didn't mean to sound like an *** last night. It was getting late and I had a rough day.

I think the tree may not be such a bad idea, but what about a real bracket race? Although, the track probably won't change their system to accomodate bracket racing, we could do it ourselves. However, it may be too much for our first sponsored drag race event and not many, including myself , know too much about dialing in perfectly.

That might be good for the next one. I have bracket raced before it is all about timing you launch and shifts. All about timing and not about getting faster.

Is it open to all of Jotech's customer. I hope it is more of a Z, G, evo, sti group.

From the way it sounds more of a Z, G, thing, with Mackie (<- hope I spelled that right) included.

Ya dialing in is just est. what you think you will run and you cant run faster than that. Then whomever gets closest to their dialed in time wins. I def. was to use the tree

I'm so glad you got the day off for this event. I really appreciate you for making this happen.

For those that are making an effort to make this event/meet, i just want to give you my thanks in advance.

Kenny had contacted Texas Motorplex yesterday informing them that we will be putting some kind of competition on Aug 10 so they are going to work in announcement for our runs.

What i need is a list of particpants w/ year /model/ (n/a, turbo, SC, or Nos)
so i can see if we need to have seperate categories for n/a and F/I.

Prizes are still being discuss so i would have to see how many are showing.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Tony
