DFW RoadRally February 28th!
It's time for the first SCCA RoadRally of the year:
Explore the countryside south of Dallas and Ft Worth in the first annual Roads of Texas Rally! Starting after breakfast, you will get to Granbury in time for dinner. This road rally is presented by Mapsco, and you will need a copy of their latest "Roads of Texas" atlas to run the event. Many of you got this atlas in our rallies last year, but you will be able to buy one at the start in Dallas for the special price of $10.
The rally is on Saturday, February 28th, with registration at 9am at the Mapsco store at Preston Rd and Forest Lane. To see the flyer, go to http://www.texasscca.org/RoT09flyer1.pdf .
Preregistration (which saves you $$) is open at http://www.dlbracing.com/clubs/texas...x?EventID=3790
We accept all Z-cars, from 240 to 370!

Can someone tell me what this is about? I checked the flyer, seems like it's just a trip from pt A to pt B, yet when I checked last yr's results, they actually ranked people from #1 to last place finish. So how does that work? Are suppose to be the fastest guy to get from pt A to pt B without getting a ticket????
Sorry if I sound like a dumba$$, never been to one......as you can tell.

No, no G35's yet.
It's a competition done on public roads at legal speeds. Some of those roads are fun at legal speeds, no matter what you drive. Ask one of our Lotus entrants. The car that best follows instructions and finds the most clues along the route will be the winner. Our WRX friends proved that the faster you go, the worse you score. They still came back. We usually have 20-40 cars.
Yes, it is fun. We do it 5 or six times a year. Next month we have a rally school. I'll post a notice on that soon.

The main thing you can't see unless you register is the cost: $20 for SCCA members, $30 for non-members. Both of those apply if you preregister; if you don't there is a $5 late fee. Also, you need a copy of the latest Roads of Texas atlas, which costs you $10 at the start (normally about $25).
Also, preregistration ends at noon on Friday.
We look forward to seeing you there. Then you can come back here and tell your friends how much fun a rally can be!
