Default Test drive in DFW

Any ideas where I could possibly test drive a Z in DFW area? Any dealers letting any off the lot that you've heard of? I test drove a S2000 (used) last weekend, but have been following the 350Z stuff since the beginning. I just want to drive one to help me in making my decision. Any ideas?

Default Test drive

I wish you luck. I have not been able to find anyone who could even say when they might have a car in the future to test drive. One dealer I talked in Arlington had a pre-owned Z on his lot and would not let me test drive it! I asked the guy if he was on drugs. The more I learn about this subject the more I hear this. I goes against my nature to buy a car without test driving it but I may have to make a choice to buy without driving or not buying. Good luck again in your seach.

This attitude I do not understand especially with a USED car. I had a similar experience with a Chevrolet dealer and a Corvette....wouldn't let me test drive and it had 12K miles on it. I'm hoping that some dealer will be more open minded about it especially if they have a specific demo car.

I fully understand why they would not want to put miles on a new car when they know how a prospective purchaser would not want one with an abnormal number of miles on it. HOWEVER, Courtesy Nissan has a Brickstone Touring on the floor of Collin Creek Mall in Plano. I got to look at it closely which was great, but can you imagine the number of greasy paw prints that have been put on this car by now with all the Xmas shoppers....let alone scratches.

I guess I might have to wait a while until there are more on the lots that aren't being picked up immediately, but I will NOT buy a car without a least knowing how it responds, brakes, etc. You can get just so much from present owner's evaluation of their NEW Z's.

I'm sorry, but most of the reports (not all) are very biased in my opinion. Not many people want to admit buyer's remorse on a $30K purchase.

I can't argue with your reasoning.

I had no problem test driving one at Bankston Nissan in Lewisville. Talk to Clay Elkins, pretty nice guy, but needs to do a little more learning on the Z.

Oh and I'm only 22 (and a girl--two strikes against me in the world of test driving), and he still was pretty cool.

Check the thread in this forum about the dallas meet tomorrow. I can't guarantee anything, but I bet you'll be able to find one of us who will let you go for a test drive. I'm gonna try and make it myself, not sure yet. Come check it out.

I test drove one at Don Davis Nissan in Arlington. I had already ordered my car and went back a few weeks later. They offered, and I jumped on it! BTW: I am also a 22 year old FEMALE! Being a woman has its advantages! Good Luck!

Default Test drive

Well the tiny dealership here in Waco called me two days ago and said I could go for a short test drive. I went to the dealership and saw my sales rep tell the owner "Oh yes this guy is gonna drive the car!" I got my test drive and the next day I placed my order for a Redline Performance with all options except splashguards. Now I begin the 2nd longest wait in my 50 years.

Trohpy Nissan in Mesquite has some in-stock and they are pretty good about letting people test drive.
