Great show of cars and some vintage aircraft! However I think it could've been better organized.
I spent most of my day waiting. Luckly I missesd the registration line but than waited one hour for a t-shirt. Should've had some pre-made. By the time I recieved my t-shirt it was a hour wait for food and water. And they were the only water/Gatorade vendor! With the heat & humdity at the show I was surprized; one no one passed out from having to wait for water, two there weren't more drink/water stations/vendors.
Having the picture with the F-4 Phatom was awesome but I waited another hour just to order a cleaned up (photochoped) version that I'll receive in four to six weeks.
Again... GREAT show and even better cause. But I'm hopping next year they learn from this show.

Hey guys, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Shawn Chittum I work for the Houston Airport System at Ellington and was the main event coordinator for the show.
I want to Thank You for coming out.
We did have many things happen we were not proud of. 1 food was overwhelmed and the line was long, T-shirt vendor same, Photos to many issues happened there too.
Well all I can say is we have them written down. We orginally planned this event like a first time show expext 80 to 125 cars to show up. Therefore we chose to do an easy Top 20, and the categories you saw. Well that figure was BLOWN out of the water. We had 241 actual people show up. with a paid attendance of over 1400+. (This number is not completly acurate yet for we still have to count the extra people who came in with the car show partcipants and aircraft) We should see we had somewhere around 2000. So in the planning process we missed it by a little.
I am truley Sorry for the issue you experienced. We will fix them and we will have a better show next year. We will have classes and we will be having a mix of judges to do that. I might be asking favors.
The Photos are all done by volunteers! So I can not gripe to much at them but I will be on them like stink on S*** to get those photos out. He is a perfectionist though and well it is going to be fun. That was one of the issue printing them out. He wanted to Photo Shop everyone of them to get it right it just took to long to do that.
With all that said I again want to say Thank You for coming out and we did do good for both the Lions Camp, and Helping a Hero. We will be doing this again next year May 8th. We will tentativley be using the Lions Camp again and the USO rather than Helping a Hero. Do not quote me on it but pretty sure.
Also any more critiques are great. Just don't call me names

Oh by the way alot of classics showed up but I promise I asked everyone I could to come out I was not biased at all. I own the 2000 White Firebird Formula Firehawk that was out there. I like them all. Except Rat Rods maybe, I just dont understand it.

You pretty much covered everything I could think of that could of gone better. Putting a water vendor/station further down the car line, maybe at the exit gate, would of been AMAZING. That and maybe some shaded seating towards the other end. I know people could/should of brought their own pop-ups but you know how the general public gets.
I'd be all for the USO being the beneficiary next time around. USO does AMAZING things for the troops both deployed and here in the states. I just got back from Iraq earlier this year, and by god did they have a hand in everything that was entertaining over there.
Thanks for putting the show together. I'll be back out next year for sure!
