thats like a restaurant saying our food will get better more people show up. or tom hicks telling the ranger fans that the team will get better if the fans show up more often. ITS DOESNT WORK THAT WAY!!! you provide a great product from the very beginning and then people will show up not the other way around.

Your logic is flawed and that analogy doesn't apply.

Year after year, Import Reactor gets better and better b/c of the support from the local Houston scene. They sell out of car show space, and it's one of the most epic shows of the year. Each year they bring more and more for the enthusiast because of continued support.

Smokey Nagata came to tune some Houston cars all because of Import Reactor...so yeah.

The car show was way to small IMO. Not saying they didn't have sick cars Cause (jotech) always serves when his crew comes through. The blue z that was slammed next to the sick *** 370 was ill. It just came down to how small it was! ****en (Ricekiller) a local meet we used to have every Monday in Plano was sicker than this ish. But I def do agree with moog, Dallas car scene isn't as near as popullated/supported as Houston and some other cities. I just hope the next show coming up this sept is better!

I thought Misa Campo alone would bring the crowd (car enthusiast) out to RPM.

This is a terrible analogy - you can't control the food put on the table and served to customers - by supporting the show and coming out to show your ride or attend - you can directly impact the show...

why spend money to improve a show when the returns aren't there?

IIRC, this played a big part in alot of people's decision. Especially with the FB fan thing that went on. I couldn't make it personally due to being sick, uncoorperative Houston weather on Thurs & Fri, and not enough time to prep...

no its like this. the organizers cant really control 100% on what cars show up but they can control the activities, celebrities, giveaways, marketing and maybe give incentives for really nice cars to show up. what you are saying is exactly what Tom Hicks of the Rangers said which pissed off so many people. He was if more people show up the games, they would have more money to spend on the team. It doesnt work that way. Your provide a quality product and the people will come. dont fkn advertise misa campo and not have her show up.

A few thoughts on the show:
  • Limited classes (only first place)
  • Inexperienced judges
  • Little entertainment
  • Race car winning best of show
  • Vendor/shop winning best Team
  • Poor marketing
  • Lisa Campo a no show
  • Very few spectators
  • Quality cars but unimpressive turnout

When you think about it, this event was from the original creators of HIN. There should not be a learning curve for this car show series. Corners were cut to save $$$. If you do not provide a good product people will not come. Granted it was thier first year, but it was not a great first impression.

However we did make the most of it. The video will be up later on www.urbancitylifetv.com.

I agree with that - there could've been more to it and that would help draw more people to show and attend - but to invest money in something that doesn't show returns is difficult - it is sort of a mixed bag - need to meet in the middle - give a product people want and can support and more will attend and over time you keep investing into the next one and building something better...

I agree with everyone rpm could have invested more money into the show for a better turn out. I think it mostly failed with the dfw enthusiast nobody knew miss campo wasn't going to be there unless you went. So it kinda failed from the start, plus when I checked my cr in they only had a page and a half worth of registered cars.
