I think next year will be a lot different, I will have some adjustable A-arms and raise my suspension about 1/2" ... and who knows, maybe even a set of track wheels/tires

Course looks really simple and fun! No DNF's...

 

Stu dude, they always look easy on paper.....it's when your looking at all those orange cones with no lines and at eye level is when things get confusing.

I don't take any of these courses for granted yet....as I have so little time driving in these.....And I am a DNF King ! So I won't say anything.

You gonna be out here for the holidays ?

 

OK so Im new to any type of autoX events, track days, etc..... I'm thinking about attending this one if I can get time off work. I need some quick advices on what should I get before attending? I Have about 4/32nds on my tires and I haven't checked my brake pads. I changed my oil about 500 miles ago.... Do you guys think I will be good with those tires or should I get new ones,? by the way Ill be driving a 08 Nismo.

 

I'll be back for most of December but probably will fly. The drive out here is a bit too long with us going back on January 3rd. I would have had to leave on or before New Years. I really wanted to drive home though.

 

Your good with your oil, it's not hard to check your pads but I would assume your ok being an 08 if you want you might just change them out really quick since it's not that hard and pretty cheap, part of me wants to say buy some new tires for grip but since your new I would say use what you have and just replace them when your done cuz your where I'm at right now where really your needing the seat time before you need to worry about spending a bunch of money on stuff for your car. Jason, Jake or pretty much anybody in here will probably be better able to answer your questions tomorrow than I can but that's just my $.02
but you should definately go out there on Saturday, you'll have a lot of fun and get some great experience and advice from an awesome group of guys.

get a flashlight and a mirror and check your pads....roll with your tires as is and enjoy yourself....

dont forget to register from the links on the first post... you have to create a log in at the dbl racing site then from there at the bottom of the 'calender' for nov 6th click register and pay for the event..

I second or third what those guys say, just want to add that auto X is fairly easy on our cars it's what they were designed to do for the most part. Plus your 4 runs all together only will take 10 to 15 mins and most of that is waiting to go.

Fithamoto is right the course may look easy until your out there driving it those little cones are easy to get confused. One turn a milisecond the wrong way and you have missed a gate and that's a DNF.

AUTO X'ing is a great time and easy on your car and walet. Once you go and feel the rush you will be hooked.

 

Next year??? Just raise the car, raising the car will help the camber issues alone...will solve/help so much for autoX...

get A-arms later when you got the cash...along with wheels/tires..

do the driver mod NOW!!!
