Hello all,

I am starting a new bi-weekly meet and cruise. This meet/cruise will take place every other Monday starting June 4th in Downtown Dallas in an open parking lot between 24 Hour Fitness and the Trammel Crow Building (information below).

This meet is for all makes and all models. The idea was to create a meet in a neutral location for all makes/models to replace the Ricekiller meet that has been moved to Frisco and has become "invite only".

When: Every other Monday beginning June 4th. 8p Meet, 10p Cruise.

Where: "Terra Park Lot". This lot is between the 24 Hour Fitness Center and the Trammel Crow Building. 2001 Ross Avenue. (note: the entrance on Harwood St. is lower car friendly)

Who: Car Enthusiasts of all makes/models.

It's kind of a drive for me too (20 miles) but we decided it was the "ideal" location since its central to so many surrounding suburbs. Where are you from?

Hmm. Well hopefully you can make it out.

 

You'll find that downtown really isn't central for the Z community. Most guys are really north of Dallas.

 

How far north? So far we have potentially 3 Z's...me, 06 350z ST, and a 370z Nismo.

But I'd like to have more of a Z turnout than anything. Any way you northern guys can round up and come out?

Or are there any Z guys closer that can make it?

 

Only if I was in dallas i would go. Nice to see other nismo 350z hanging out.

 

Alot of Z guys are in Plano, Frisco, McKinney, etc. Same with the G35 guys. Most of them don't like to drive more than 5 miles for a meet.

The real deal is that most guys that frequent the forum are guys that can't really do a 10pm cruise because of early work the next day. Hell I can't even do an 8pm meet because of 2am work every day.

2am work? Geez. I considered the 9-5 guys. The meet is the "main attraction", the cruise is just extra. Plano and McKinney aren't terribly far, hopefully we can get some of them to come out.

Ya 2am wake up sucks, but it's a good job. I was mainly just poking fun at the Z/G community. Alot of guys don't like making a drive for a meet, but if it becomes a regular thing you'll see more effort. I would say bump it to 7pm, but if it's downtown it would be a pain to get downtown by 7pm.

Most of the guys that frequent the DFW Lounge thread are getting into track days more than just meet and greets. You should come out to a track day.

I would like to meet with you guys...but I have 2 issues with this.....

For one, it's in Dallas and I hate driving downtown. It is the Arm pit of the DFW area ! So just as Allstar said, we have had meets before but more around Grapevine or Plano/Richardson off of 190 & Coit.

And Secondly, it is on a Monday evening which is almost impossible for me to get away on a week night since I am a bit older than most of you guys and have a family with Kiddo to tend to. So I will have to just look at your "high quality" photos from the meets. (sarcasm)

I will post pics and a record of how many cars show up. I think as this becomes regular and more popular, more people will make an effort to show.

U should relocate the meet somewhere around Richardson area, ill def show up n ill try to get some of my z friends too. like fithamoto said, i hate driving in Downtown

 

Isn't Richardson just up 75 from downtown (I can't remember)? Like I said, if someone has access to a nice garage or lot, I'm okay with relocating. If I knew of a place where we could have a free meet and all the DFW Z guys could show up, I could get everyone else to travel. For me and the others that started this, we all concluded downtown because of the big free lot and it being a "central" spot to areas like Garland, Mesquite, Plano, etc. Even for us, it's a 20 mile hike.

 

Just moved back from Houston and currently live in Plano. Downtown is far for me and have to go to work early. Is there any meet around Plano/Allen area?
