Default PCA time trial/autox Sep 29th/30th

Alright ****'s we wanna see who's ready to take it past autox. We have the PCA time trials on Sep.29th and the autox on the 30th. Time trials, for those who don't know are like a mix between autox and track racing. If it's like last time, you get one warm up lap then three back to back hot laps, all in a row. It's a lot of fun if you want to go faster and more continuous than autox.
Event will be held at mineral Wells both days and we will need to be there no later than 8 am. I forgot to include the link so either you can wait for me to post it or search maverick region pca in google for more info and for registration.
This is to get an idea to see who wants a little more than autox than paying the big bucks for a track day.

I love the TTs! I will be in for both events. I am trying to submit a course for the AX. The TT course will be one of the three they always use. I can't remember where they are in the rotation.

Do they run the time trial course on the same lot as the autoX we did a few weeks ago out there?

It will be out at Mineral Wells. They have 5 or 6 track designs they use and they run the same sets each year.

Not sure if I am off for the 28 yet but I am planning on going to the one on the 8th of Sept so I hope to make both.

I should be able to make it out. I've done OK at autoX with my Invos and I'm curious to see their limits on a time trial.

Yes Eric, the TT course is long and fast ! Usually long sweepers with less abrupt braking.

Like a Baby Track day or AutoX on steroids.

They use three course. This has links to all three: http://mav.pca.org/Events/Autocross/...ingOverlay.htm

Being event #4, I suspect they will use Course #1.

I didn't realize there was another PCA time trial/autox combo on the first weekend of Sept. I'm likely going to at least one of those, but unsure which event yet.

I'm not sure about the one at the end of the month, though.

How many laps do you get and do you have to work the course? I've never been to a time trial before.

You get about 30 minutes of 1/2 speed practice in the AM where you can circle the course as many times as you want in that time. When the event starts, you will do one warm up lap and three hot laps, non-stop. You come back in, and after a brief wait, you do the same again. Then you go work. Then you have lunch. Then you do it again. In the PM, they usually do either two more sets of three or one set of four, depending on the time. You will get 10-12 hot, timed laps.

You will be in third and fourth gear on these courses.

They have instructors to help get you started.

It really is a lot of fun and a nice change from autocross.
