Never been to this gathering, but I hear it has a decent turnout. Anybody know more about this one? Post here!

 

isn't it a ricer hang out? i read www.dragva.com a lot and the ricers seem to always go there and get kicked out. also chic-fil-a, shell, burger king, etc...

i wouldnt attempt to go unless we brought a lot of our own people. those kids are complete morons.

 

Bummer. I know a few people here in the area have gone to this one. The one at the Chik-Fil-A here at the Dulles Town Center is actually sponsored by the owner of the restaurant, and it's kind of "self-moderated" since alot of the people that show up their are "grown-ups" with classics, etc. Most of the attendees don't show much kindness towards people who want to come and do burnouts, etc., since that gets them in trouble with the folks kind enough to provide their parking lot.

 

last i heard the owner at the chic-fil-a got mad cause everyone left trash outside and said they weren't welcome back. but it seems like that situation has been handled.

the way it seems, the "grown ups" with the classics come early, and then the dumb kids show up later. (i gather this bc the dragva kids talk about the classic cars as though they are a completely separate group that they dont hang out with)

and i'm sure there are some decent ppl at the meets, however after reading their boards, i'd say 95% of the "drag nova" section are @ssholes. for instance, just yesterday someone posted up that he was irritated of ppl asking for help with their cars in exchange for money. he said ppl shouldn't be in this hobby if they didnt know how to work on their own cars. and sadly this is the kind of talk that goes on among them.

 

I go Kelly... its not that bad... but due to the cold ... not too many people there....

 

Is that by the safeway? I've been there on a friday night but didn't see anyone.

 

Just wanted to invite you guys to come out. I'm from the RX-8 club and went to the first DragVA meet at the CFA (where evidently some people trashed the lot) there were a few cool people there but then the rice kids came out. There was a Loudoun County Sherrif at the CFA while I was there and he didn't harrass anyone on site.

A group of the guys from DragVA have now split off to create a new forum (to escape from the @holes on the DragVA boards). There will be a meet at the CFA this friday. It will not be posted on DragVA to try to keep the group civil.

So far I've invited members of the RX7 club as well as the RX8 club to come out. I'd like to see a few Zs there as well since you guys seem like a good group (I'm one of the RX-8s that came with you guys on your Skyline Drive cruise).

 

So where is this meet? What time?

Sounds good. Although this isn't an RX meet so I'm not sure how many Rotor heads will be there (2 RX-8s so far - trying to get some 7s to show).
