tranny is fine I am just heating it up to much. The dealer sayed they found nothing wrong but some dark fluid. So I guess dave was right to much low end torque so I will still drive my car to the meet this weekend just stay off the boost for now

You can't use synthetic in the auto's. Must be J-MATIC fluid from Nissan.

When I had the dealer do my VB swap, they said the tranny fluid was "burnt". Don't just do a drain and fill. The car will retain about 2-4 quarts on a drain. Have a true flush done. BTW, I will need a ride in your car once you get both the TC and VB done, mkay.

Well they just called back the tech that drove my car wasnt running it hard enough to get the tranny to mess up. they got somebody to drive the hell out of it and called to say the tranny is shot. I am going to order that parted out tranny for $750 and take my chance better then 4200

u say it only acts up when warm??? sounds a lot like a fluid problem or the valve body not allowing fluid to pass thru properly, or torque converter not engaging. im always worried when a used tranny goes into a car, even if the tranny isnt that old and in "good" condition. how many miles do u have on the car? have u ever had a true trans fluid flush?

Wow, this is just getting worse. Maybe you get your car to AAM for them to do the tranny swap. It might save you labor while getting the TC and VB done. You may need to check into compatibilty with current and replacement tranny. Have you thought about swapping in a manual tranny?
Your story will be watched by many who are now concerned about their tranny's. I wish you luck in your situation, I feel for you man.

You might want to move this to a general section if you haven't already so everyone can be aware/suggest ideas for you. LokeyInfiniti (g35driver) is my old service director and may be of some assistance to you as far as a performance oriented dealer opinion. Who cares if it's a Z or a G at this point.

Not sure if the TCM is going to come with the new tranny or reuse your old one. I know Nissan was playing around with their tranny versions somewhere in the model years. Also having the tranny installed only to have it ripped back out by another set of hand to save a two hour tow truck ride seems like a bad idea. It's your car man, but if something fails on you....who do you blame now! Turbo toys? Dealer? AAM? Level 10? You have to keep the car in as little hands as possible at this point. Your labor and fluid will cost atleast be $400-500 to do this twice. It cost about $100 just to fill your tranny up! Have the dealer pull your TC and VB then drive them to AAM, H2 or not. Actually are you getting a new TC with the tranny? What about VB?

I know it's your car but it seems like you're in a real vulnerable spot right now.

You got me thinking while I was eating bro. You are right about not letting everybody touch my car. I am going to the dealer in a few pay them for the tow and what ever else I owe them have the car towed back home to me, next week when my new tranny comes in along with my 6MT rear end pick both those up get a car trailer from uhaul for $39 tow it to AAM with my parts.

Have AAM sent my TC and VB off to level 10 install them and tranny when it comes back along with my trans cooler and 6MT rear. Dave and Mike at AAM have been working on my car alont as of late and I feel its better to allways have the same guys working on your car because they get to know its in's and outs. plus my SC is leaking oil and I sure and hell dont want anybody messing with that.

Thanks for looking out bro.

Tranny and 6MT rear were shipped today. I will keep this posted updated seeing as there are a few AT guys here. I just cant wait to see what failed on the tranny.

Also what could I do to this tranny besides the VB and TC to make it stronger?

Lightening all unsprung weight will lessen the load on the tranny and give you more speed. Tranny cooler and a temp guage would be the only other things you can do for piece of mind. Anything else you do gear wise will be big $$$.
