Default New Wheels Ordered

Still saving up for the Vortech kit, but wanted to make a quick detour to do something cosmetic & performance at the same time.

Just went and placed an order with TireRack and should have these on my car by Friday of this week.

Front:
* Kazera KZ-A Black w/ machined lip 18x8.5
* Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 245x40x18

Rear:
* Kazera KZ-A Black w/ machined lip 18x9.5
* Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 275x40x18

All together with shipping cost: $1838.98. Not too bad! I'll definitely have pics up by this weekend once they're on!

Haha, thanks man!

Yeah, sorry I haven't been around much in the past week... I've been a bit overloaded with stuff at home.

Whenever you guys are next getting together, I'll be sure to be there. Especially since now I'll be a lot less stock looking!! :-p

For a guy who's last car is this:

It's been awfully hard not to just blow every penny on random bits for the car. But I was really serious when it came around to the Z with wanting to do everything *right* the first time. Plus... I had the Mustang from 16-18.5 so that could explain the F&F phase I went through! :-p

Sweet, Shahrum. I'd be very interested in seeing what they look like on the Z. I've been looking for a 5 spoke black rim with polished lip for a decent price. hmmm...by the way I just checked out the nova350z web site for the first time...looks really good.

Im a mustang guy. I had one before the Z. I love everything on that car except the wheels and exhaust tip. Is that the invader kit with a cobra r wing?

I like these wheels, can't wait to see them on your car. So many haters of these rims but for the money you can't beat them....

Thanks, I'll definitely have pics up as soon as they're in.

Mantis: The Mustang did indeed have an Invader kit on it with a genuine Saleen S281 spoiler. The Cobra spoiler is a lot shorter and is more like a bump on the trunk similar to the stock 350Z spoiler. The Saleen S281 fully extends out like the one I had.

The wheels were Steeda Ultra-Lite II's in 17x9 chrome all around on 275x40x17 rubber. I'm not sure how much of a Mustang enthusiast you are, but Steeda is well known for their aftermarket Mustang suspension and the wheels I purchased were their latest model of ultra lightweight forged wheels -- chrome plated to make them even sweeter!

The wheels:

Ive definately heard of Steeda but never knew they made wheels. The wheels you ordered for your Z are nice. They remind me of the nismo wheels

isn't that a bit of an oxymoron?

but that is a pretty sweet stang. I'm an old school mustang fan. My first car was a 69 mustang convertible i bought when i was 15 (23 now) - I still have it, though it now is halfway through a restoration (which I'll prob never finish). has a '89 302, AOD, 9" rear, 5 lug front disc conversion, added power steering, mach 1 seats, etc. Originally it was a 250 6 cyl, 3 spd auto with drums all around. One day I'll get it running again

Could someone please tell me what the tire's PSI should be set at? They all came inflated and are still at 35psi. Is that acceptable? I know the stock tires run at that, but with these, I wasn't sure.

35psi is whats recommended... depending on how you drive you mighht want to lower them a bit, but at that tire pressure the tires are supposed to wear evenly... if you want more traction in the back then drop the tire pressure, or if you want to cut into corners faster then drop the front by a few.... i still have mine at 35 psi all around

looks good though! not a bad price either. are they cast one piece? how heavy were they compared to the stock tire/rim combo?

get some tire shine on those tires!! lol see you around mason

Haha... got the tire shine on yesterday :-p They were looking gross without it. But this weekend once the tsunami leaves town (lol) I'm going to get the car cleaned up again. I already did a coat of NXT earlier in the week. Once that's done, I'm taking the car over to Mason and up to the top of the Sandy Creek deck and inside it as well for photos. If you'd like to join me, lemme know. I have a key that I can open the garage with and let you in as well. I just figured it'd be a nice spot for some cool photos.

They are cast one piece and shot peened (sp?). They felt lighter than the stock tire/rim combo to me. But who knows in all actuality if they're not. I think you might be able to find the actual weight on the tire rack site? I had the stock 17's, even though I have a touring, since I have auto.

Tirerack says 24.3 lbs which is the same as your 17s were. I'm sure the wider rubber added a few lbs, but hey you get better traction and looks!
