2 blown up turbo Z's @ Ultimate?
Theres two blown up Z's at Ultimate performance right now, they belong to anyone here? Apparently one got done at Evolution and blew up the next day so the guy took it to Ultimate to get fixed, don't know the story on the other one.
Both of them have Turbonetics kits on them with stock motor, would like to know what happened.

The other blown up Z used to belong to Alain, and now belongs to Ultimate. They are working on rebuilding the motor right now. This car is a custom built TT setup by Jo-tech racing. The other car is Shervins and is almost ready to be back on the streets.

Yes, the Daytona Blue Z belongs to Brian Dean, owner of Ultimate Performance. The bottom end let go because the boost controller was bumped during operation, escalating the boost beyond safe limits. I'm not aware of any Redline Z's there at the moment. This was formerly SkidaZzles car, sold to Alain (INDECIS on the forum), who owned it I think for a year and a half or so.
I guess I didn't read the OP closely enough. I didn't realize that there was another Z there with a Turbonetics kit in it. That's interesting. I might have to stop by and see what happened to it. My flash is getting re-reflashed right now to work on the A/F ratio.

Are you sure they are both TNEtics kits? I only know about Shervs car which was apparently modified (modified wastegate) and was not running correctly when he picked it up. He did not take it easy even tho there was a CEL and yeah it blew. Go figure.
Thats just dumb! There have been WAY more SC'ed cars that have blown up. Remember all of the early ATI Prochargers? I know vortech kits have blown too.
Turbos blown have mostly been Greddy kits that were "incomplete" installs.

well 35 ounces ... lets do hte math on the amount of SC sold compared to the amount of TT sold ...
Now if we look at the numbers relative it may just make sense ...
But you know what I dont even care ..
