Washing probably isn't possible. The water just freezes right on the car and creates a good icey coat.

I tried wiping off some bird droppings on my other car and I now have areas of ice on the car. At least I got the bird droppings off.

Default One good thing

One good thing about the salt is that it will cover the scratches left on my car when someone hit it last night. Yes....someone backed right into the front bumper. I think they were getting ready to leave until they saw me running up to them. O well it's minor and will be fixed by there insurance company.

Oh god, sorry to hear it! Glad they're taking care of it though...Where were you parked at? And good thing you were close or outside when it happened. I'm still awaiting news from a rock from a truck from 2 months ago!! They sent out papers for me to sign, now I'm just waiting for the check...1000 bucks, and you guys will see the damage on Saturday...

Ah..where there's a will (and an obsessive Z owner ) there's a way.

The roads were a bit wet after the snow "flurries" on Tuesday and my car was all salty when I got to work. I park in a garage at work and had an hour to kill, Soooo....

I went to grocery store and bought 4, 1 liter bottles of cheap bottled water. I had some car wash in the car, so I mixed up some and went section-by-section and proceeded to wash/rinse the entire car. Of course, I had to go upstairs 3 times to refill the bottles in the restroom , but I got it done.

Yes, I'm craZy, but if I know I'm craZy, then it must not be that bad...yet.

Looking forward to meeting y'all!

VG

PS
FBlade1, very sorry to hear about your mishap. I know if did that to another car, I would be too paranoid to just leave...I'd have to leave a note. Hope you get it back into shape soon!!

I'll tell you crazy. I took mine to a hand carwash at Tysons Corner yesterday for lunch.. It costs $25.00, but it looks great.

Default Shameless commerce

I've made a reservation for 20 at Nottingham's. There are pool tables for anyone interested at $6/hr. I tried to get us a break on that rate, but they wouldn't go for it.

BTW, I'll have copies of my new 350Z calendar for anyone who's interested. Only $20 and you can save the $2.50 postage and handling.

More details on the calendar are here:https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=17436.

Agree. I don't understand why they need to use as much as they do. Seems like the run off would be bad for the environment, not to mention the accelerated corrosion of our cars. Since the Z is not my daily driver, I generally wait until the next good rain after the salting before taking it out.

By my count, we have 26 people who will most likely be there, plus or minus a few I'm sure. Here's the color breakdown:

Brickyard - 7
Chrome Silver - 4
Daytona Blue - 3
Silverstone - 2
Redline - 1
Lemans Sunset - 1
Super Black - 1
(don't knows - 4)

Things to do:

Park our Zs in a huge Z shape and find a tall building to take a pic from.

See how many people we can stuff into a Z.

Looking forward to seeing some of you again, and meeting the rest.

If we could come up with a PPW we would have all the colors. Would this be a first for a Z meet other than a dealer supported?

Things that would be nice:

Having all the colors
Putting the cars in a Z shape
Using WXTORNADO car to see how many of us will fit-PRICELESS

Well, at least 28 have posted here, but only 21 have posted on the poll page that they were definitely or probably coming. My guess is that a couple of them won't make it, but a couple others who haven't said anything will show up. So I'm thinking just over 20. And a couple of those are future Z owners.

But it should be a good turn out!

The buildings there are quite tall, but I'd expect it to be tough to get to a high window for a shot. (Locked offices, security, etc.) If I can, I'll stop by there today and see if there's any chance at all of getting in tomorrow. Failing that, there is a berm (earthen rise) on the other side of the parking lot. Not very tall, but possible.

Or were you just joking about that....

See you tomorrow.

Lol Gatorz - I was wondering who would volunteer their Z to see how many people we could fit in it - probably not too many takers on that one.

There's a PPW with frost in Southern Maryland that I spotted - gorgeous! No idea who owns it tho.........

Commasense - definitely serious about that shot if we can swing it.

Commasense, make sure you bring a big enough supply of those calendars. I'll be buying one from you.

I have yet to see a PPW...hope 1 shows up.

Oh, with one small condition, I'll use my car to see how many people will fit in the Z.

The condition??...the people must consist soley, besides myself , of members of the Swedish Bikini Team!

I hear LA has a bikini team too, so I would consider them too.

On a serious note, everyone please be careful out there - some of us have a long trip (I'm 2 hours away, and I live in MD!), and it's cold out there, and we all know what these cold tires can do.

Drive safe and taker easy, would love to see everyone arrive without any new damage.

Agreed. With the flurry from this morning and the frigid temperatures there's probably a lot of standing ice out there.

Hope to get a chance to meet everyone!

There was a Z meet in Rock Creek Park sometime last year.
