why cant this mod be used on a 03-04z? all your doing is adding a spacer and machining the edge on the lower plenum by cyl 1 and 2? Has this been tried with a regular vq?

Do some research-it cant be used because the rev-up models have cam timing on both intake AND exhaust which makes them take advantage of NA mods better, as can be seen by how some of these guys are dynoing 270whp+ with basic bolt-ons. Also, they rev to 7000 rpm's, 287hp models dont, unless they have an ECU. Also, the cams are different. Too many differences to just mod a plenum in your 03-04 and expect the same results.

Very good summary Alberto.

The only way to really know is through test. I would like to test it but there are so many different permutations and different combinations of mod configurations I just couldn't test them all unless I had a dyno machine parked in my garage. LOL I just might have to get one.

I've spent whole days with a car on the dyno machine, turning bolts and testing all kinds of things for development. Only a small fraction of them are written up here on the boards.

hey do you guys still need a 06 to test this out? Ive been to the track many times with my previous cars. able to pull 2.0 60's constant on my 03 maxima on street tires. Ran 14.2 stock with a 04 maxima and 14.5 stock on the 03 both with stock tires. I just got the Z in dec and will be attendin MIR's openin and goto capital raceway religiously since its only 10min away from home. If this opportunity is still open im willin to let alberto take it on the drag as long as he takes full responsibilities on the track

OK with me, but you and Alberto would have to agree on that one.

Thumbs up

I know and have met Alberto on several occations. I have been in his car when he drives, and I can say, this kid REALLY knows how to drive. I was almost about to take Bert up on this deal, but im wierd about people driving my car cause ANYTHING can happen, but I bought the MREV + kit anyways, bert is helping me install it end of this week. But yea, If you really want to do this deal, Bert is your man, he will take good care of your car. I have spoke to Tony on several occations, and hes legit on this deal so go for it guys! Save $640+ Good luck
