Itty bitty pieces of clothing and below freezing temps don't make for flattering pictures.

It doesn't do any good that she's in the south though.

If you say so. I'm assuming this is a volunteer project so unless she's willing to fly herself up here and find room accomidations she's probably not a financially wise choice. Not to offend her in any way, but hotels and airfare are expensive this time of year. Besides, there are plenty of qualified girls closer to where the shoot will be taking place.

Question It's that time of the Year again...

Alright, I hate to raise this from the dead..... BUT

The weather is going to be nice again soon, and my car is looking pretty lonely being in the shop for sooo long....

Anyone know someone that would be up for a planned model shoot? Not for anything in particular just to get some good pics of the car and model of course...

Spec-Veee you still out there.....?

Just starting to put out feelers..

I know it takes everyone time to make plans and such.

I do not have anything set in my mind. I guess it depends on both weather and your schedule. I think it would be real nice if Kelly and I could do this together. This way we could get a set of shots with different cars, poses and scenery.

My car will be out of the shop by mid February this month. So, there is plenty of time to set something up. I see there is a show in Baltimore March 18 and another one in FL on the 19th and 24 which are possibilities.

Nothing is definite and maybe if I do the Baltimore show we could make a day or 2 of it and get shots around the city and in the show…. I am by no means a professional photographer. Anyone have thoughts on this subject?

I think we can come up with a few natural settings and at least 1 urban setting for a shoot.

I'm available on weekends, unless you do indoor shoots and can meet after I get off work. I may need a week or two notice just to be sure I keep a day or two clear for you if you prefer weekends. Plus I'd like to get some tanning in, and that will take a week or so till I'm not "glow in the dark" white.

I won't be heading to Florida, even though I'm sure the weather is sickeningly gorgeous right now. A car show huh? How do you figure on working that one out? Are you in it?

If Kelly is any good at photography I'm sure he wouldn't mind helping out. Maybe I can get Integrity involved too. He might be ok at it.

Urban setting = need a coat...bikinis don't look good under jackets.

Spec-Veee

Alright, I think a few weeks of planning preparation is good enough time. SO we will make sure to come up with a decision at least 3 weeks ahead of time. I am pretty sure ‘glow in the dark white’ will not go well with my silver car…

I was thinking of the car show as an opportunity for you to go, and get your pics with a number of cars, not just mine. Yes I will be in a number of shows this year. But the first is probably the Baltimore show. Then I might take the car to FL and do the Miami show the following weekend.

As for Kelly, yea, he takes some good pics and has a pretty good eye for what looks good and angles and such… But hey, having Integrity there would be good too. A second eye and camera angle never hurts.

Urban setting w/ Bikini is cool, you just need to wear other stuff to the shooting site, do the shots and then throw the coat on later… Just kidding.
I think a nice natural background is best for the first try, less stress, gawkers and nosy people to deal with.

Bam,
I know what Kelly wants his pics for, but I don't think I ever found out why you wanted shots. And I'm not sure I understand why I would go to a show and take pics w/other cars. Mind explaining?

Christine,

Well, I am trying to do this for a couple of reasons: Putting together a portfolio for my car to use in magazines and just general pics to show off the car (I would NOT release any of your images to anyone without getting your permission first..); I would also like to get some nice pics of my car for my computers desktop/screensaver and possibly for print as a poster or signboard for my car at shows (again I would not put anything in the public domain without your permission first); and I also think we should still try to get some cars together for a calendar of the Capital 350Z/G35 cars.

If you have any concerns about this, let me know nothing is set in stone in my mind, I just thought this would be a nice opportunity to get some high quality pictures.

As for why you might want to get pics at cars shows, I thought I read earlier in this thread that you wanted to try some car modeling. I figured that might be a good place to go and get different shots with various cars. I apologize if I got that wrong.
