I'm in the Army. I used my military ID.
*EDIT* You only get the one day pass if you're visiting. If you work here or any other military installation you get a post sticker that gives you access. All you do then is show ID. Like in your case, you would need to get the one day pass. And no, I doubt that would get you out of a ticket... sorry.
