Yea I saw that cop just as I made the left. Shut her right down as all the exhaust noise was sure to attract that cop...

Did not know you were planning to tag along or I would have slowed down a bit.

^ You shoulda seen us on Rt 70 and Rt 40, they almost did get busted, 2 law breaking Z owners were stopped middle of Rt 40 revving up ready to run, when a cop on the other side of the road 30 feet away looked at us all. Luckily my GF saw the cop and yelled out NO NO STOP!! 2 Z owners were lucky, that could have been bad....

That guy in the Cobra was a pole smoker, talks up his dyno #'s which I think were inflated considering he had stock headers(I think more like 460-480whp), and then backs out of a race and tries to get his cousin to drive, what a puss....

It was pretty funny about that Punkstang... how you gonna try to get someone else to race YOUR CAR. All it is to him is prolly a wanna-be dyno queen with no intentions of pushing it to the limits. He's scurred.

The wideband is going in tomorrow hopefully. I have taken a few days off work to get my car back together. I got the new guages in, and most of the nos setup wired.

As for the tuning, we knew we couldnt fine tune until I put in my WB, so we took a look at all the timing adjustments I had been messing with. Well, this is what we ended up doing.

First the timing I was tring was WAAAAY off, so we reloaded the stock maps that come from turboXS. Then we did some runs in 4th gear to watch the timing. Here is some of the output:

STOCK ECU:
5837 -17.8 4.52 103 90 00 15.65 +19.6 72.7 ECU. +0.0 4.56
5878 -17.8 4.58 103 90 00 15.47 +20.5 73.0 ECU. +0.0 4.56

As you can see as we get close to 6k rpm the ecu is still at +20 degrees of timing with +0.0 retard. So we went to the intake/exhaust map that turboXS sends with the utec.

INTAKE/EXHAUST:
5963 -17.8 4.54 103 90 00 16.05 +20.9 80.1 +21.4 -4.0 4.35
6038 -17.8 4.54 103 90 00 15.75 +20.4 78.9 +21.5 -4.0 4.33

Now we can see that the stock ecu would still be in the +20 timing range, but the utec has adjusted to +21.5. For some reason its pull 4 degrees. Why, I dont know?

Now we made an adjustment on what we though was advancing the timing by 2 degrees. We took the 4 the utec was adjusting and added 2 more to it. We came up with this:

HACKED INTAKE/EXHAUST:
5005 -17.9 4.31 103 80 00 14.92 +15.0 61.6 +20.3 -4.5 4.13
5027 -17.9 4.25 100 80 00 14.44 +14.9 60.1 +20.3 -4.6 4.11

First I know the RPM variances on the last one. The traffic on the 495 was picking up and I didnt get enough room to get all the way up to 6k rpm, but it gives you an idea. You can see where we adjusted, we are now at +14. However, there is still the -4.6 retard.

Maybe im just reading it wrong, or I should have added 6 instead of taken it away from the timing setup. I am going to give that a try later tonight probably.

Feel free to put your input in. I very well could be interpeting this all wrong. One thing I did notice is that after reloading the original maps the car felt a bit stronger. Especially on my 1-2 shift where I was bogging down on sunday. I donno, I guess we will get more info when the WB comes in, but something still doesn't seem right.
