^ LOL... Enjoy the vacation 'bert. We'll have to hook up after you get back to talk about tweakin' the UTEC a bit.

Thanks again to everyone for making the day a blast (regardless of how I left the track ).

I'm still looking to get another shot at the 1/4, and a full on time attack day as well. Hell, while we're at it, we should have Mike set up a drift comp... With so many sick rides out here, I'm sure everyone can fine tune and come up with some great days at the tracks.

I hope to see everybody at the next event...

Thumbs up

Dudes, That video of the WRX and Bert is just sick. I think the only way to beat that thing would be to flatten it's tires..

Bert I agree, we should set up another MIR day in September... (This time I will have a beefed up diff, maybe some custom CV joints and launch at maybe 4K). Maybe I will talk to some local performance shops to see if we can get a rep out with us to help diagnose any boost, tuning or leak problems we might encounter.

Again, I am glad y’all had a good time. I heard a few more people had some problems. I hope everything work out for everyone.

Guys I would love to organize a track day at a road course like Summit, but honestly I think that would be WAY more expensive then most could afford.

Bert, have a great vacation man and hope to see you on the track again soon.

Dave Shiroma showed up after you left...I think he's as qualified as anyone...and I'm sure he'd be willing to show up.

Brent after hearing from many people that my diff was peg legging during burn outs and havinng my car get sideways out of the hole worse and worse everytime I think Im gonna look into an aftermarket diff. By September Ill hopefully have a race gas map done, and the diff/axles, and maybe my alignment setting more suited for dragginf -2.0 degrees all the way around. See you when I get back.

Sorry I missed Dave. As we were leaving, I saw another PPW roadster driving in. Sorry I missed anyone.

Bert: Hope you have/had a good vacation. I do suggest you go with a aftermarket diff. But until I know what happened to mine, I can not recommend any high HP solutions.

I was car number 7. My fastest time was a 14.3. Just not good enough for me with all my na mods.) Even bone stock I was able to run a 14.1. So wierd.

Kaaz 1-way is all you need for drag.. 1.5 and 2-ways are for road track use..

if you can get around 50 cars for the day, that would make it affordable.. it's just that you gotta make sure it's 50 people that would show up and possibly just prepay you.

Unlike the drag strip, running at Summit Point with JUST 20 to 50 people can get you A LOT of track time (think anywhere from 2 to 4 hours of non-stop driving).. even enough for me to go through more than 2 TANK full of fuel (not like the drag strip of a couple of gallons.

Summit Point is a good start, just so long as you get a good 50 people... I think BSR (Bill Scott Racing) includes instructors for that price (and for those people that ran less than 5 road track events, this is a must for the new guys who barely or never drove a full circuit course).

I think with 50 people, rain or shine, it would be very cost effective for everyone and this event wouldnt be weather-dependent. 20 people on the track (even though that would be steep for most), it would be a LOT of track time of which you would want to stop driving and take a break at every 30 mins to give the car a break, but you can squeeze in well over 4 hours of track time in.

I would be very up for this if you plan to do a Summit Point event. I think it's just more fun to unleash the car more so for more than just 1/4 mile pulls at a time (as the Main Circuit Front straight is very close to 1/2 of a mile long (2900 foot straight, 400 feet elevation change overall) and the rest of the track is about 1.7 miles long? Something like that.

even if it wasnt a MY350Z event, all of us just signing up for a FATT day would be great:

http://www.bsr-inc.com/RDS.HTM
http://www.bsr-inc.com/FATT.HTM

$225 per person for this event.. but if you want to rent out the track to MY350Z members and friends, you might be able to go lower than that amount, but again, that depends on the number of people on the track.

Currently I am signed up for a FATT day on July 7th (which is already a waitlist for the novice group). There are still spots available dates shown in this link:

Finally get to post here...

Had a blast on Friday, just like everyone else. It was great to see everyone again (all the Mid-A regulars) and great meeting all the new people. Sucks my **** broke after my best run (13.3@103)... thanks for the help getting my **** fixed before my drive home -insert name here- (my bad man... bad with names). Thanks xenon for the launch tips... still working on my damn 60' time now though. Thanks again Brent for setting the day up for all of us... it was awesome. When I got home, my TurboXS RFL exhaust was waiting on my doorstep. That damn thing is LOUD. And now my car feels fast. Scary fast. Can't wait to get it back out on the track to see the improvements. Also should be picking up my boost controller today. Good times, good times.

I would be all up for either renting the track for a day or joining a FATT.. Problem is trying to plan something for something as far out as Sep is really difficult for me.. I can never be sure of where I will be more then 1-2 months prior to a date while working under contract.

Question to you. Can you PM me the price for renting the track for the day. I assume this would include instructors and lessons for all of us novices..?

Honestly, I doubt we could get another 30 guys to pay $200 for a day of racing. Not that people don't want to, but more to do with the cost.

Maybe in a couple of months we can put a poll together to gauge interest. But first I would need to know the cost of the track rental.

Just so you all know. My inner CV blew to pieces on the left (drivers) side.
We are trying to figure out why and how to prevent in the future right now.

Here is a picture of the remaining pieces

what broke? I left before that happened.

btw, the TXS RFL turboback isnt that loud, I had something even louder than that You should get Turbo Trix to replace your muffler section with a straight 3" pipe.. that will help out some (both loudness and flow).. I think the TXS exhausts are all tapered designs..

I'll try to get the pricing sometime this week and coordinate with BSR about that.. but it's probably easier to just sign up for the track day like FATT now and if it comes down to do it, you can always reschedule for yourself (you're entitled to one re-schedule or do what I do, sell it to someone online for a small loss than a total loss).

I think last year or two, there were about 12 or 14 WRX guys that we all agreed on signing up for a FATT day and it worked out just fine.. no hassles that way. The guys that couldn't make rescheduled or sold their spot to other WRX owner that didnt want to be in the wait list. It was a fair way to work out since there's no minimum of amount of people and the price is already established.

I'll PM you the info just as soon as I get all the figures out for you and all the specs so that you can make the call if you think it's even worth doing (for most of us track-****** it can be, especially if it becomes a 2-day event like NASA events).

I had a great time at the track event, hit my best time to date: 14.028 @ 100.05 mph. I will definatley be in for another track event. Guys just wait for Bert to get back from his vacation, I saw the raw video footage of the track event and it was pretty good. I cant wait to see it in edited format.

Damn... The axle looks great though! LOL.

Pretty much the same thing happened on mine, except it was the outer CV...

Oh well, it's still a great chance for a custom AAM piece...
