Yeah, I would do anything NOT to have to live in the DC area. We used to live in Eastern Hanover, but it grew way too fast and started looking like NOVA, so we moved farther west. Now we have 10 acres and a lake in front of our house, horses grazing in the field of my neighbor, wild turkeys wandering through, Canada geese always playing in the lake. Ahhhh, the country life! My wife and I don't go anywhere cause we always feel like we're at our own bed and breakfast. It takes me 30 minutes to get to work, but 90% of the drive is winding country roads. You need a break brother!

 

Thats exactly why we are headed down this weekend....Man your place sounds like home (Southwest Illinois, 5min from St.Louis). I cant wait to open up a 4wheeler on my own property and not worry about some Yahoo calling the policeman on me. lol.

 

Check out anything West of I-95 around, or below the Ashland area (route 54 west, route 33 west). You should be able to buy a pretty nice place using your NOVA cost of living.

 

Sounds like you need to move out towards Powhattan or Goochland. You can open up a lot more than a four wheeler on the property in some places out there.

 

I need to stay close to I95 for about 6months to a year..I am taking the train from Fredbird to DC until Northrop Grumman can transfer me to the Richmond area. We may just buy a 10 acre lot, then rent until I transfer. Thanks for the information...we are looking from Ladysmith to Lakeside...just not too far west.

If you're going to be at the new building near Rivers Bend you'll be pretty damn close to me. I have a bit less than 10 acres (more like 0.3) but you can get land on the south side for not much, especially out in Dinwiddy or Prince George.

 

eh...old thrad....but, I just moved here from GA. so I'll try to get out there if you're still meeting at the same location on Huguenot. I live about 30 seconds from there, off of polo pkwy.

I somehow knocked my exhaust out of place going over a dip in the road (Oh I love Richmond). My car will be in the shop Monday for at least a week so maybe I should bring it by tomorrow just so everyone can ooh and ahh over my bad *** motorcycle ricer exhaust before I get it fixed LOL.

So I know this is a little far in advance but is there any interest in trying to get together on the 16th? That would be the Friday after next. From what I hear there is generally a poor showing of Z's at the Starbuck's meet. I've actually heard it referred to as "The Subaru meet off of Huguenot".
