Default 350Z Recall question

Im sure all of you got the recall on the fuel lines for our 350Z's. My question is, my car is lowered and a bodykit, so how is everyone else in this situation getting there car fixed? I bought mine from browns nissan and I heard a rumor that they have some thing where we can go to the ferrari dealership to have work done??? Let me know please

I take my car to them all the time... for the same reasons as you. Willie is actually replacing the rubber on my front tires as we speak. Once I get me car off the jackstands in my garage, she'll be back there again tomorrow to finish inspection/emissions.

I don't think that Browns has any sort of agreement w/ Ferrari.... so If you are going to have the recall done, and have your car on Ferarri's lifts, you'll prolly have to pay Ferarri for labor, and I doubt that Nissan will pay you back for Ferarri's rates.

My suggestion... bring four 2 and a half foot 2x4's with you to Browns and tell then that they will need to drive the car onto the boards inorder to get your car on the lift

G'luck

(I wonder why I have not seen a recall notice for my car yet.....)

Brown's Nissan in Sterling "suggested' to me that I go to Ferrari next door from now on based on how low my car was, the turbo/clutch/IC/exhaust/Oil Cooling kit and especially my body work.

Basically they did get it on the lift, but only after a LOT of discussion. Then, they cracked my sideskirts because they did not know where to put the lift extensions on the frame without hitting the skirts and finally when they had it on the lift, they were like WTF, this is like no NISSAN we have seen.

They did find my problem, but said to fix it they would have to remove my turbos and replace all my lines... I said no thank you, get my car down please and took it back to AAM.

If you REALLY want to get it serviced at NISSAN, I would HIGHLY suggest Frederick Nissan. I assure you Gene and his crew have seen it all and worked on some really low/trick out rides and know how to take care of your car. AND they can do the warranty thing for you.

Just my $.02.

Remember guys that this is warranty work and as such, Ferrari cannot and probably will not do it.

The Recall is for a specific VIN range, and my car did not fall within that range. I didn't receive a letter either, but I checked my VIN anyway, just to be sure. Maybe if your VIN isn't in that range (not sure how they'd know) you don't get the letter?

That's why I recommend Frederick Nissan. I know they will deal with 'unusual requests' without blinking an eye, while a lot of places might give you the, 'That is not Nissan OEM' answer.

True dat. I asked Browns in Sterling to raise the idle on my car via the Consult-II. The guy walked out and looked at it and said (and I quote), "With all that intake work, I don't think we can do it, and I don't think any of my guys would want to try." When I explained to him that my computer is the OEM ECU and that raising the idle would not affect anything else on the car, he refused to hear it and turned me away, despite all logic I was presenting him with. What a moron. I *know* that would not happen at Frederick.
