Labree Test pipes 2006 350z advise please
i just ordered a set from Labree, was wondering anyone has thess on a 2006 and can offer any install advise or concerns?
thanks in advance, there wasnt much info on these and an 06 that i could find.
im running stock exhaust, stock Y, and was hoping this would make it sound more aggressive.

i dont know if this helps at all..but i have an 03 w/ labree resonated test pipes and a nismo exhaust, and its loud.im assuming that even on an 06 with stock exhaust the test pipes will make your car alot louder.
it doesnt become a lot louder. it sounds about right, however it sounds weird w stock exhaust..kinda too high pitched. The night before the install, spray wd40 over the bolts you will remove, and 30 minutes prior too. Itll make install very easy. Take the 02 sensors off after you remove the cat. Access the top bolts through teh engine bay with extensions.

thanks, that was my concern actually. adding "non-foulers" easy to do? ill do a search on it.
after some searching here is all the stuff i found for those of you doing this soon like me.
pick up 2 sets of non-foulers (spark plug). Drill one set out with a 1/2" drill bit and leave the other set as is. Screw the non drilled set into the test pipe. I suggest screwing your o2 sensor into the drilled set before screwing them into the non drilled set already in the pipes. The sensor is a pretty tight fit and when trying to torque them you'll risk breaking the drilled non foulers in half (did it on mine) if they're already installed. Hope that made sense... Anyway, it should look like this (disregard the crack in mine ). https://my350z.com/forum/attachme...1&d=1144001831
Just search the web for Help! non foulers spark plugs. The number should be 42002.
If you are getting a CEL (check engine light) after installing high flow cats or test pipes, then you need this easy fix. No expensive 02 simulator is needed. They are more $ and more work than is needed. The HELP! method is tried and proven to get rid the test pipe related CEL.
Get two packs of HELP! Spark plug nonfoulers - part number 42002 or 42009 (either will work) - these are readily available at Autozone, Checker, Pep Boys, etc.
Drill ONLY 2 of the nonfoulers out with a 1/2" drill bit. Fit 1 NON-drilled fouler into each test pipe. Fit 1 drilled nonfouler into the previously installed undrilled fouler on each bank. Finally insert your o2 sensor into the drilled nonfouler and reconnect the wires.
THAT IS IT! Reset your ECU and the CEL will not come back!
Help Part Number 42002 (18 MM). Be sure buy 2 packages and to drill out (1/2") only the ones which the O2 sensor screws into, not the ones that screw into the test pipes. The sequence is:
O-2 Sensor>>>Drilled Non-Fouler>>>Un-Drilled Non-Fouler>>>Test Pipe
You need two nonfoulers for each side so 4 total.
Install one non fouler into o2 sensor bung on each bank without any modifcation done to the NF (non fouler). Take the remaining two NFs and drill them out to 1/2" and screw one into each of the previously installed NFs on each bank. Then install the o2 sensors into these. Done -
Do not drill completely thru both of them after screwing together.
Drill only one on each side and screw the one you did not drill into the exhaust first and then the one you did drill into that and the o2 sensor into that.
It is only needed to drill one anti-fouler to allow clearance for the sensor if you bought the part number described.

Im running Megan test pipes with stock exhuast/y pipe and its pretty fukin loud. Used to have injen true dual, kinda like the sound of just test pipes, but not having full exhaust really holds you back
I was lazy and didt take pictures yet, I have the install scheduled for tomorrow so ill just take pictures then. as far as sound goes ill try my best to capture before and after.
first time really posting alot of pictures so the format sucks, but you get the idea.
notes on install, in order to drill out the help parts needed you are going to need a nice drill. I was lucky and had at my disposal a drill press with titanium bits and a buddy that owns a shop. my friend did everything I traded him comptuer favors for his car know-how. the test pipes came with everything except a set of bolts needed to remount the brace that goes between the cats. the old cats have the bolts built into them. it took about 2 hours to finish.
there is no rasp.
there is no SES or CEL as of yet
we did unplug the battery for about 1 hour
the sound with the stock exhaust is just what i wanted.
it is not high pitched, it sounds meaner than stock and you can tell the difference at 3k rpms, very nice, highly recommend.
ill do my best to answer any questions if you have em.
if you want to talk to the guy that did it or want him to do yours he is local and here is his contact info.
