Great time guys. 301 north was bumper to bumper. So I took 5 north to 95 and 95 north home. Just got in a few minutes ago.

My most memorable runs of the day were against Alberto driving your car. I got a time slip showing a 2/100 second win for Alberto. Win or loss, nothing beats a photo finish.

thanks again Brent, sorry about the axles, we'll yank them out and I'll take a look at them when I get to the shop on Tues/Weds to see what really failed.. we'll take apart the LSD too to see any signs of a straight beat down.

Thanks again to Brent for holding the event yesterday. I'm sure we'll both be back in action within a couple of weeks...

As for the damage report: my left axle sheered off at the outer hub. I guess the track was a little too sticky for the 4k rpm dump that I attempted... Even though I loaded the clutch, that much power hooking up just proved to be a little much for the factory rear end... Brent has graciously donated his old factory set so I should be back on the street by next week (with my new suspension and larger injectors )

As for Brent's beast, it appeared to be the inner CV that chewed itself apart... Frank (aka The Mechanic From Hell) is going to tear it down to get the full story...

Again, thanks to Brent and everyone for an awesome day.

-Ryan

Special thanks to those who went to the trouble of bringing grills and cooking for us. Much appreciated

And the young lady with blond hair who spent dedicated hour after hour passing out time slips.

^LOL... Yeah, the wifee was a little miffed, but she'll be ok... After the initial impact of, "oh ****, I just fuked up my car..." passed, it was a little easier to digest. I'm just grateful for everyone's efforts in helping Brent and I get our cars back to the shop. I can't say it enough - thanks again.

I will say this much, the fact that Brent went down the very next run after mine... it's almost twilight zone. But after we both got our cars on the lifts at Altered we had a good laugh about everything.

I guess it's a lesson learned: If you play rough with your toys, you just might break something. Which may lead directly to your bank account as well .

Yea, guys. I am glad everyone had a good time. I am pretty miffed that I did not get to really run, but I guess that will have to be for another day. I think a day in September would be a good idea... cooler weather and gives me time to put together some more money (to save for towing and repairs next time around) and get my new engine installed/tuned.

Ryan, I gotta say when that guy from Chips Towing, said 'That is a new car right..?' as he was trying to figure out what happened to it and why it needed towing... I about died... and I KNOW you wanted to smack him...

I did say before, that we all had to accept the risk associated with racing and we might brake something... Well, I guess I paid the price for speaking up first..

I definitely hope everyone learned some stuff from this track experience.

Hey man, I was talking with a few people and if Frank is right and the inner CV blew apart... Maybe you can take a look at making a stronger one with the CNC machine..? I do not see a point of having these large axles and bolted outer CV joint if the inner stays stock and just blows apart like that. The new diff should be a lot stronger then this stock one, so we should try to find a way to strengthen the inner connection as much as possible.

Thanks man.
