front license plate ticket
i got two tickets from the same cop in arlington county. both within a month. Is there any way to fight the tickets. i think the fine is 80 dollars, 160 for two tickets is steep for not running a front license plate. Any advice.

I've been pulled over 4 times and ticketed i time in the past 2 yrs. 1st time cop was being a d--k. 2nd time i had my plate on the floor and cop saw i had my 4yr old daughter in car. He told me to stick it in the front wdw. 3rd time plate was in front wdw, same d--k from 1st time pulled me over, and said it needs to be mounted. I explained that the one cop told me i could leave it in the wdw.Luckily the other cop was passing by at the time, pulled in and was my back up. He recognized the car, and agreed it would be a shame to uglify my new front clip. COOL GUY!! the 4th time had my plate on front floor and past a cop, he pulled a u turn. i reached down and threw the plate up in the wdw, then got pulled over. Lucky me, it was the d--k. He walks up and says"Were's your plate at, and i point to my front wdw. He bends down and looks over. "i'll let you off this time" leaves very unhappy. So just keep you plate on the front seat or floor, if caught w/ out it, say you just cleaned your window and be very nice. there are some cool cops.

Just put the front tag on. You're not going to change the law. And from past experience, I got pulled over more with the tag on the dash than with no tag at all. It doesn't count. I think it catches their attention more than not having one. Apparently it has to be on the actual front of the car.
How would you fight it? It clearly wasn't on the front of your car.

Not sure about other states, but in Cali it is considered a fix-it ticket which needs to be signed off to have the fine reduced to $10 (from $100). A various # of ppl can sign off on it, but i've noticed they don't check the signature or anything. So I've been forging them for the past 2 years now.
Cops that give those tickets are stupid imo.

Got one of those years ago in N.VA (Fairfax County). I fixed it before the court date and the judge tossed it out on my word it was fixed, no charge. No verification either, but I think if I would have been caught again I would have been in some shiit.
It ain't worth the aggravation around here to go without it, too many of our fine jurisdictions look to traffic fines as revenue streams. Just get a Z-Bracket, Stillen Bracket or whatever and suck it up.

va sucks, it's going to depend on the cop and the judge. if the cop is bored/jealous enough to pull you over, you're going to get it. window/dash placement is not allowed (it could sever the hedge of a passenger in an accident).
and when you fix it, it will be up to the judge. i heard a judge say one day that if you have a ticket like front plate and you show proof that it's fixed, they will just drop it because they're not here to collect money from us, just to make sure we're safe and obey the law. the next day i went in for my front plate and altered suspension ticket and showed proof that i fixed everything, including a 400 dollar reciept for fixing the suspension back to stock (nismo only drops your car 2 cm to begin with) and the judge reduced my fine by about 10 dollars. even after the cop said i had a completely perfect record.
cliff notes: sadly, fairfax county sucks.

I gotten 2 tickets and a warning.....I just laugh at the cops, wait until trial date and pay the ticket a day before, that way the cop has to waste his time going to court for nothing!!! waste mine, I'll waste yours. $60 ticket in MD, no biggie.
