Default Porsche exhaust note?

I was following this Porsche carrera vert and he gunned it so I tried following ... obviously he was faster than my roadster ... but I was dissapointed in his exhaust note. It sounded horrible like a loud sputter. Maybe it was just this guys car. I'm not sure if it was a carrera or not but It definitely was a non-boxster model made within the last 3 or 4 years.
Is this how all the newer Porsches sound?

Yeah I have noticed. It sounds extremely wierd and I feel bad for them cause they feel it too after they gun it trying to make some noise. It's like unfiltered or something. Extremely disgusting.
