The new toy... 8.0 liters of pure torque.
Well, it's finally here....
My 2001 Viper GTS ACR (American Club Racer) with 8000 miles on the odometer. The car is rated at 450 BHP, 490 ft-lbs of torque. The ACR includes 5-point racing harnesses, fully adjustable shocks, and smooth-tube intake. As a standard, the ACR does not have fog-lights, radio or A/C (it's supposed to be a race car), but my car has the comfort option, which adds the radio and the A/C.
Cylinder firing order is 1-10-9-4-3-6-5-8-7-2 (there's no replacement for displacement, which is 8.0 Liters/ .8 liters per cylinder)
Front tires are 275/35-18s
Rear tires are 335/30-18s
The entire body of the car, minus the side sills, is a fiberglass/resin composite. The sills are aluminum.
The transmission is a 6-speed manual. Same transmission basically as what's in the Vette (though ratios are probably different).
The interior is basically your standard Dodge interior....nothing special there. It has less room than the Z despite the Vipers larger appearance.
I'll have it out at the Active Tuning meet in July for sure.
It's been raining on and off ever since the car showed up Sunday night, so it's kinda garage bound for now. As soon as the sun comes out, I'll get 'er out and clean 'er up for a good photo shoot.
A few pictures in the garage:

mmmmm....tasty! Nice going Kelly . I cannot believe you sold the Z, but seeing that car I wouldn't have hesitated either (except my insurance would cost as much as a house ). Congrats on that bad boy, looks amazing, maybe a ride? Please??

Vipers are sexy, I especially like the yellow/black theme-not many cars can oull it off without looking like a bumble bee, but the Viper succeeds. Oh and I love those massive rear meats, they are 335's IIRC? Bring it out to the September track day and we can line up Kelly

Since insurance companies pay on book value in the event of a total loss, you can't use a standard insurance policy (unless you're willing to take the loss between market and book value, which can be as much as $20K). I'll have to get a policy with an "agreed value", which basically means that I insure the car for a certain dollar amount and that amount never changes. They write the policy based on the agreed value and bill accordingly. The nice thing is that these policies are cheap because they typically apply annual mileage limits to reduce risk and manage cost.
And yeah, definitely we'll go for a ride.

Dayum! Nice snake kelly!
Though my friend has a viper and says if you leave it at idle for too long it'll shut off. For example if your stuck in heavy traffic. Don't know if you've had the car long enough to witness this, so just throwing it out there.
