Don't be jealous man. Pull the bottle full of Haterade away from your lips for a quick second and appreciate what the man's got.

Kelly, they make a pretty sweet TT set-up for your new ride. (you know since the Z is gone now )There's a guy in a Viper that frequents MIR on the open nights and he has the TT set-up. Its pretty sweet. But I love the Yellow Black combo, you don't see hardy any of those.

Kelly, is this going to be classic stock for a while or are you going to mod it right up?

I'm gonna keep this one pretty much stock. I'll do a few little cosmetic things to dress it up (particularly the interior which is almost boring.)

There is much speculation that the ACR version of this car will be quite valuable in the coming years, so I'm not sure how much I want to mod it.

My birthday is today and my wife bought me new embroidered floor mats, a short-shifter, and some new fluid covers. She also bought me the wiring-harness to disable the annoying 1st to 4th gear skip-shift feature.

So it begins.

Mr Cobean you are a one lucky man...your wife kicks ****! Congrats on the new car, AGAIN!! That car is hot, I wouldn't do a thing to it (maybe wheels, maybe, always easy to return to stock).

What is the 1st to 4th gear thing about? I am not sure what you mean with reagrds to that, it is a manual, no? Or is it a trip-tronic?

Again congrats on the car, and enjoy the weekend, it is supposed to be beautiful.

In an effort to improve fuel econonmy Dodge put in a feature where at 1/4 throttle or less in first gear, when you go to shift, it will lock out 2nd (and 3rd) gears so that when you come out of 1st and head for 2nd, the gate for 2nd is locked out and the stick bumps over to 4th gear. Corvettes do this as well (they call it CAGS: Corvette Automatic Gear Selector)

I know what you're thinking...4th gear from 1st at 1/4 throttle?????? It's a testament to how much low end torque this car has. It accelerates quite easily from 10 or 15 MPH in 4th gear. (it's not tire smoking by any means, but it's not at all struggling). The full 490 ft-lbs is available at 3500 RPM.

It's still an annoying feature though. It's not a level of control that I want the car to have over my driving habits, so I spent the $19 to buy the harness to disable this feature without getting a CEL.

This seems like a real birthday to have once every few years. Enjoy your birthday, with the weather so perfect, a great car and wife, how could one stay indoors at work. I am sure you took the day off with your wifey and the toy.

Man you are cancerian too!

Jealous? No way man. I have great respect for Kelly. But I think he should get Porsche instead of Viper man.

I am just uneasy w/ the fact that he sold his Z and go for something that may break at 50K miles stock. FORD did get the name "Fix Or Repair Daily" for no reason. Dodge is even worse.

Anways Kelly, it's ur car. Follow your heart. Please dont mind my personal opinion.

sometimes its not the performance and featues that it comes down to but more the feeling you get when you get in it. if it excites you its prob a car you are gonna love. its not just the numbers.

im sure getting in the viper and hearing it fire up would get anyones blood pumping

I know of quite a few Vipers that are at 80K+ miles and run just perfectly. Honestly, I don't see me getting the mileage that high on this car for years given my driving patterns with the Z, but we'll see. You have to remember that much like Ferraris, these cars are hand built and the entire drivetrain has an excellent service record.

I'm not offended by your opinion at all. With the exception of the Viper, I'm not a huge domestic fan either, but your tact was a bit off, thus my response. Kind of like me saying "It's a Viper..if you don't like it, you're an a-hole" vs. saying "I haven't met anyone yet who didn't like a Viper on some level. I'm surprised to hear you slam it in my thread"
