Default Not exactly a swarm, but....

Hey guys...I'm really enjoying the snake. It's such a different car than the Z.

Anyway, thought I'd share a few pictures over at a new acquaintances house...he has a hydraulic 4-post lift in his garage that he uses to work on/store his car. He parks his Nissan Pathfinder under the Viper. I had a chance to put my car up on his lift and give it a good once over and clean things up.

Enjoy:

This guys Viper has a Roe supercharger on it. I think he's putting down around 600 to the wheels. I got a ride in that thing...it'll peel your face off it's so fast. It has no intercooler, just meth injection. It's a great, ultra-clean car.

Damn, even better. How much boost? Give me an estimate here, how much whp can a Viper's block handle?

It's a roots type blower. I'm not sure exactly how much boost. He installed the entire setup himself and street tuned it.

Up until mid-'99, Vipers were actually built with forged pistons/rods, but in mid-99 they switched to cast components. The latter are affectionately known in the community as "Creampuff Vipers". The forged versions are good for 1000+ WHP (and there are quite a few TT Vipers pushing 1300-1500 WHP out there.) It seems most people stop around 650-700 WHP with the post-'99 cars though.

Good stuff. How much would one of those lifts cost? The Viper community is pretty friendly huh?

I think the lift was around $5K, but I didn't ask specifically.

The Viper community has been very friendly so far. Aside from the guy who's car is in the picture, I met another guy out in Gainesville with a lift who also does all his own wrenching. He's invited me out anytime to do work on my car (which is good because the list of things to do is pretty darn long)

Kelly it seems like having a lift is a must for all the V guys. Might want to throw that 5K down. I wonder if you can install one in any garage or it has to be in some special height specification. Either case, beautiful cars.

I don't know if it's a must, I think these guys just have more money than I do. .

You can't tell in the pictures, but his garage is almost a two-story ceiling. He can get his car high enough that I can stand under it with just a slight tilt of my head, and I'm 6'4". That ain't happenin' in my garage..no way.

Oh k that's why. Because it looks like a normal garage and I was like hmmm?? But i see how it is, inside it's much bigger. What kinda of things can you do with this car performance wise. I wonder if there is anything left since it's so powerful, maybe some look wise. Show us some pics or threads. Definetly looks like something no one wants to mess with on the streeets.

There are TONS of mods for this car. Superchargers (3 or 4 different options), TT kits (2 or 3 different options), cams, headers, exhaust systems, hi-flow cats, lowering springs, etc. My car has fully adjustable suspension (height, compression, rebound) from the factory, so no worries there. I personally won't be doing much to the car performance wise, but if someone wanted to, they could.

Not sure what you want to see with "pics or threads"...can you clarify?

Some people buy giant Plasma TVs and home-theater systems, these guys bought lifts. While it may not pay for itself, think about how much work you could do yourself if you had a lift like that! It would definitely save you some money. And besides, like you said...It's VERY COOL!

One day, I'll have a lift.....it's a must! I suppose the lift is designed for low cars. Inspiration:
