That does not work at all. I tried that with a lawyer once in court when I had my Prelude. The judge just laughed and fined me for 3 tickets that I had got at the same time.
For my tint, I took it off, so he reduced the fine.
For my lowered car, I took pictures of my car next to Vetts and other lower cars, and showed the judge that my car was not too low, but he did not believe me told me my car obviously in the pictures was too low, (it was the body kit that made the car look really low) SO he gave me the same fine for that
and when I tried to show the judge all the paperwork on my exhaust being legal, he laughed and told me it was not stock from the factory.
Most of the Fairfax jurisdiction of cops suck! I ended up paying a lot of money that day.

Damn.

But they do have to show sufficient evidence to prove it's not stock. Where you messed up was showing him paperwork saying your "aftermarket" exhaust was legal (which is evidence AGAINST you)... you admitted to having an aftermarket exhaust, which is illegal in VA. The lowered thing, I would've fought that tooth and nail. The body kit wouldn't technically "lower" the car, just make it appear that way. But I'm not sure what the law in VA is with altered suspensions.

Yeah I think you're referring to DWBB ... driving while being black

edit: Actually you should go to Nissan and tell them your story ... They can use your "Testamonial" to attract more black males. "Attention black males ... po-po always on your back? ... buy a 350Z and the police will laugh you on your way"

Nismo (you can say it came from the factory) or Greddy, both fairly quiet

Dude, I thought you put that Turbonetics on and that should have quieted down your exhaust a hell of a lot... The only thing I can think of is the FFX cops all know your car and specifically pull you over to see if you have corrected your previous infractions...

Good luck man, And seriously, either decide to fight it all the way, taking it to various levels of cour,t OR give it up and change the exhaust to something a bit more like stock.

Heavier than stock by 10lbs but has the smoothest power curve out of ALL exhausts. Most after market exhausts weigh 20lbs less than stock, so think of it as a 30lb addition for an extra 1-2whp/1-2 torque, worth it? Not really. But different? Yes!

- The price is a bit high as well.

Wow, I didn't know that any exhaust is illegal in the state. That's some crap, especially if you can pass the emissions and don't have a mega-loud-assed coffee can on.

Dammit... I completely forgot to check on the date of the original post... DOAH.... My bad

This weekend, well I know absolutely jack **** about stuff like this, but give me a ring when you are doing this and I can see what I can do to help out (pass wrenches, drink your beer, make drunken comments about how slow and inept you are at installing a TN kit... etc) Just joking man.

I have a block party to go to on Sunday (if it does not rain) otherwise my weekend is open. Let me know what I can do brother.

I wouldn't mind watching/helping (mostly watching) you install that sucker. Would be good experience for me ... let me know when you're heading over to Mike's. I'll bring food and beer (I know mike likes yingling (sp?) )

This is exactly why I went with Nismo, I could claim it was factory ordered and it's not as loud as some other options. I drove all around FFX Cty this week and had no problems whatsoever. Do you think they hassle the JDM crowd because GMU is near and they try to keep the college kids in their box? A totally stock Corvette, Elise or exotic would be much louder than most of our aftermarket exhausts, and I've never seen any of those cars pulled over by FFX police.

FFX cops are the reason I parted out my G...its sad but I got at least one ticket every month. I have an 04 G35 coupe dropped on Tein 350z h techs, Volk diamond black gt7s 19x9.5 19x10.5, full veilside kit, invidia g200 exhaust, ME spacer, UR pulleys, Philips 6k Ultinons, and JWT intake. When all the work was done to my car I was getting pulled over constantly...here are some of the BS violations aka "warnings" I had...

1. After being followed (first behind, then to my right, then left, then behind again...) during rush hour traffic on 28/29 near centreville I was pulled over b/c quote "I thought you had blue headlights and strobe lights'....My headlights are stock except for the upgraded ultinons..."Sorry about that but please drive safe"...takes a good look over the car...gets back into his and leaves

(a week later...)
2. On Ffx co pkwy and west ox road during rush hour traffic, cops in lane that goes straight but is stuck behind a red light. Im in lane going right to turn onto pkwy. I see him so i use signal, stop completely look for opening then go. Immediately he changes langes gets behind me and follows me for about 1 mile. I saw him turn so I stayed @ 50mph maybe even 49mph. Lights on, I pulled over and already had registration/license ready..."looked like you were in a hurry there buddy.." -- Um, not really I was going the speed limit sir...'ya but i noticed you accelerated quickly from behind that light...' Im sorry you feel that way but i accelerated normally sir...goes and checks out my car/and myself and maybe snacks on a donut....comes back 15 min later....'OK, just take it easy..'

Two Weeks later After having been rear ended the day before...
3. So Im just about to pull into my street and this cop that had previously pulled someone over followed me...I drive around my street to my house...and as soon as I park his lights flash on (1AM parents, neighbors all asleep...)"Yes I noticed one of your tag lights is out..." -- yes sir I was just involved in an accident yesterday the cars going in the shop at the end of the week, the bracket holding one bulb is shattered... 'Well cant you just change the bulb?' Sir the bracket that holds the bulb along with half my bumper is practically in my back seat!!...you can see my rear bumper is mashed??!! "Ya well you should know its illegal to drive without a tag light..." (mind you 1 bulb was plenty to still make my tags in total darkness...)

After these scenarios and many others I decided to part out...and I'll be honest since parting out I have YET to get pulled over or harrassed...(KNOCKS ON WOOD!!). The only things I have kept are my wheels and 350z h techs...everything else was sold for like <50% off the price I paid

Yes I gave into FFX po-po..oh damn...time to update my sig!!
