My 1/4 run...

From what I'm getting over on the Evo forums is that I was shifting out of my powerband (way out)... I was shifting ~7800, but apparently should have been shifting between 7100-7300. DAMMIT, with that and without palsy-shifting into 2nd, and a little less slipping the clutch at launch, I mighta hit 11.9...

Tony (what if, what if, what if...)

Launch your Z around 2000-2500 rpms. My wife cut a 2.0 60' doing that.

Tony (my wife cuts better 60's than most people on this forum)

That also goes for Tony himself as she owned his launch in one pass.

Gooey it was nice seeing you again man, little more seat time and you'll get those 60ft's down to 2.0's and see 13's...

I actually semi-raced a G friday night from a stop light. I got about a car and a half on him after shifting into 3rd and then shut it down (it 1:00 am so I wasn't trying to get pulled over). All of this with my traction on.

He then kept going and probably got over 90+ mph in speed (speed limit 50). Not very smart when you're the only car on the road on a friday night on route 7.

Id say it hit low 70's Friday night. Dont know what Brent has run if he ever did run stock, but I beleive his fastest with around 490whp was 12.7-12.9.

A good launch on a Z roadster and you MAY be able to eek out a 13.9, all depends on if you can grab a gear though...

13.7 @ 102 n/a, here...nothing to write home about.

sub-13.5 n/a would be a better goal for roadsters.

since I'm stock ... me getting into the 13s would be a pretty high goal.

I thought you had a few n/a mods. You are right, dipping into the 13's stock should be the goal.

Not gonna happen now man... no bueno. My clutch has met it's match in a 6k, 10psi street launch the other day. I noticed it on Tuesday when I took a ride up to AMS... me and 2 co-workers (one of which has an Evo IX getting MASSIVE work done there, the other has an STi that I smoked pre-flash/fuel pump) went up there to check out progress on his Evo... I gunned it on 495 and saw my RPMs jump up ~500 before my clutch actually gripped and sent power to the wheels. Now if I hit boost it'll slip about 1000-1500 RPMs before it grips. I need $500 for an ACT clutch now... or $1500 for an Exedy twin...

Tony (is now accepting donations)
