Default In the market for a new '06 Z

I'm in the market for a new '06 Z. I live in Burke,VA so I have over 7 Nissan dealerships in a 40 mile radius.

Which dealership offers the best deals?

I received an email from Passport Nissan of Alexandria advertising all '06 Nissans $1000 under invoice(after all incentives, including rebates, taxes, tags, frieght, and processing fee) until this Friday.
I'll check out this deal but has any anybody bought a Z from them? If so, do they offer good deals?

I like the stock wheels of the '06 track and grand touring models. But if they don't offer me a good deal on either one, then I'll settle for a touring model because I want leather seats.
Are the track model cloth seats comfortable?

first things first. before you decide on which model to get i would go in a do a test drive. as far as model. it really depends on what you plan to do with the car. you will probably find that most people responding to this thread are going ask your intentions before giving a solid answer.

if you plan on doing quite a bit of modding it might not make sense to get a track model if you are planning to replace all the components you paid extra for in the first place. why pay more for better wheels, brakes, etc. if you are only going to replace them when you get the car.

that said... do you plan on doing a lot of modding? btw... welcome to the forums.

I've test driving a '05 Z last year. But then I bought a '05 G35 6MT instead. I just sold it and now I'm interested in a Z again.
Only aspect I do not like about the '06 Zs are that they are around 150lbs. heavier. I am unable to find a '05 with less than a 100miles on it in this area.

I bought a JWT intake for my previous G35. So this is the only aftermarket mod I plan on installing for a Z. So to answer your question, I do not plan on modding a lot.

Any suggestions on local dealerships would be appreciative.

Typically go to the dealership with the largest inventory. They usually sell the most, get more bonuses from the manufacturer and can afford to sell at a lower price per unit.

I would not really worry about the weight of 06, people have weighed and compared with 05s, they are not any different. I would go ahead and buy the 06s.

I agree.. I have taken dumps that weigh more than the difference.

Ryan-Black G = 3600
Dan (Celica) = 2325
Osix-Mike = 3170 **I told you the 06's werent heavier
Rico(sp?) Nightshade = 3170
Booby Ritz-Rob = 3500
Project Sherv = 3450
Ben-Poopra = 3160
Kirk-Orange Z = 3160
Bob-Silverstone = 3230
Integrity-Charles = 3180
David = 3060 *Lightest Z there
Mike-MDRacer = 3290
Tony-EVO = 3190
Last but not least Brents roadster aka The tank = 3770

Pretty cool we did this guys for those that have dyno'd you can now calculate very accurate power to weight.

Just to give you an Idea that the 06 are the same weight check out the bold name Osix350z ... as far as I know he (Mike) hasn't done much to lighten it up.

Talk to Larry Signora at Herb Gordon Mile One in Silver Spring. Tell him Robbie (with the blue Z ) from Fresh Designs sent you. My friends and I have bought many many cars from them and we dont go anywhere else but in that Auto Mall. Larry is the Sales Manager at Nissan and knows me very well. I actually just gave him a deposit for another vehicle about 6 weeks ago.

So why does the '06 Z brochure state that each model weighs almost 150lbs heavier? Are they including the weight of the driver?

That would be Gross Vehicle Weight which includes driver, passengers, luggage etc.

Hey guys.. I'm Mike. I have the 06 that Bert is talking about. At the time of that weigh in I had the following modifications:

AAM 3" single exhaust
Megan test pipes
AAM Y-pipe
JWT pop charger
MREVplus kit

I also had a quarter tank of gas, and removed my spare/tools.

I weighed 3,170 pounds.

How much did your Z originally weigh when it was new?
