Default Earthquakes in Paradise

As the title states, I woke up to a 6.7 earthquake this morning, which occured right off the coast of Big Island (for those that don't know, I'm in HI). It's crazy, the first earthquake in my life took place in the middle of the Pacific. What's really crazy is that the **** is just like the movies... everything was moving and shaking in my house... I'm suprised it was that rough this far away from the epicenter. I'm not exactly sure how many, but I know Oahu and Maui were damn near 100% powerless, and I'm sure Big Island was too.

Tony (now officially an earthquake survivor)

good to hear everything's ok ... btw It's only um 4 effin 20 in morning and I'm congested/can't breath and sick as f*ck. If an earth quake happened right now I think I'd blame it on my head spinning ...

I was in L.A. for the big one, back in the days (it was around 3 or 4 am). My dad's house, split in half. It wasn't a "shaky" earthquake but more of a swaying one. Still lasted a while, couldn't sleep at all, had many aftershocks.

Thanks everyone. Tha damage on Oahu wasn't bad at alll, matter of fact, damage period wasn't too bad. A hospital on Big Island was damaged pretty bad though.

I could just imagine actually being close to the epicenter... being this far away was felt, ****, anything closer woulda been crazy.

My mom and stepdad live in Kona on the Big Island - mom is in Arizona for work but stepdad said it was a pretty good shake - enough to make him do the stand in a doorway thing. Their house is OK - some water sloshed out of the pool and a broken flower pot or two.

That was pretty much the whole island (Oahu). No food joints were open (save maybe a few)... I was pissed. I went to Jack in the Box (whose power was ON) and they weren't serving. I drove around all of Wahiawa and Milinani but couldn't find jack besides a few gas stations that were only selling gas and Walmart with it's long *** line and 15 item limit... you had to give them a list, wait outside the door while the employees shopped for you. The only Walmart letting people in was PACKED. We got the last bag of charcoal and some other stuff that we ended up not needing since when we got home the power was back on.
