Well, we just had HIN out here in Hawaii and me and some of my crew decided to enter. It was my Evo, 2 other Evo IX's (both MR's), a bug-eye Subie wagon and an SRT4 (of previous magazine fame... just can't remember which mag). Well, we ended up taking home 4 trophies... Hottest 4 door and Hottest Mild Mitsu went to my boy Third (the most JDM-built Evo I've ever seen), Hottest Dodge went to the SRT4 and 3rd place Hottest Lighting went to the crew (which my wife came up with the idea the day of the show).
We were split up though... the SRT and the one MR were in the main area and myself, the other MR and the wagon were in between the main area and the arena, which IMO we were in the best spot since EVERYONE had to see us if they wanted to get between spots.
Well, as luck would have it, these 2 guys (cool as hell, BTW) decided to interview me for Octane TV along with a 1005whp Supra. After the interview, they asked if I wanted to hook up with them the next day so they could hook cameras up to the car and get some driving shots (my face like this -
). Of course I agreed.
So the next day rolls around (yesterday) and I call some of the crew up to come out and we all meet up at our regular spot after I met up with the Octane guys and the Supra (twin HKS 3037's=sickness). We roll to a spot we have up were I live but since it's on Schofield Barracks we weren't allowed to film. So myself, Octane guys and Supra leave to go shoot out in the pineapple fields... good thing we left because the rest of my club got escorted off-post because the CG (commanding General for those that don't speak military) was pissed so many big-wing cars decided to congregate on his turf (apparently from what I heard it was an awesome site to see ~25 Evo's/STi's/STI's/WRX's, a DSM and an SRT4 escorted by MP's).
Well, the Supra guy had to leave (because his wife wanted to bring the NSX along too...) so the Octane guys hook the cameras up to my car and let me loose for about 3 miles. Definately got a launch in there (which to me felt like the best launch I've ever done) and did a few 3-4, 2-4 pulls. Thene they did the Supra. Then they did me again, doing a in-car interview asking the same questions as before, hooking more cameras up to the outside (just in different spots). After this my crew showed up (which was much less deep now, since some people didn't feel like waiting all day) and they got film of us doing drive bys which came out bad-***.
The Octane crew is actually now thinking of doing a 3-day crew documentary of us sometime in the near future which will involve some of our crazy late-night antics (not all driving related) like H3 tunnel runs, 13 Turns, hopefully a Tantalus run (which I have yet to do), Kolekole Pass (which is what we tried to run but got kicked out), racing down at our spot, and some other stuff as well.
I'll be sure to post up my HIN pics and as soon as the Octane guys get the video done I'll get that link here as well (the website is www.octanetv.com... they have some bad-*** stuff on there). Oh, as far as the pics are concerned, my camera sucks *** and died before I got to taking pics of 350's/G35's (which were poorly repped). I know the rest of my crew took a lot of pics, so I'll try and satisfy your 350 **** cravings as best I can.
Tony (will be sure to give the Mid-A crew a shout-out during the documentary... they plan on doing a lot of crew profiles)
