Looking for a new job? I can get you a referral!
Not very likely but are they hiring for any jobs that someone could do while still attending school? I am looking for a job that has some clout, rather than saying, "During college I worked at Abercrombie, Macy's, Best Buy, insert bs job here(no offense if anyone works at any of the above),".

I have to agree with Brent. If you show your driven and able and knowledgable, that should be all that you need. Too bad it doesn't work that way.
To the OP, I won't be leaving my comapny. Im going to keep going to get as many years experience I can, then move on. For what its worth, my forum name is my real name too, LOL!

I can count atleast 7 people that are employed in my project that got hired even though they didn't have a degree. All of them came from the Navy; 2 master chiefs, 2 senior chiefs, the rest were around the E-6 ranking.
All of them specialize in Electronic Warfare. Considering our project is called SEWIP (Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program) they all know their **** and help us with a bunch of stuff. BTW they're Salaried employees with all the same benefits as me.

Dutch: Your right there again. The key for me was my military background. While I could not find any work with a # of larger companies (Beltway Bandits) after the military, I got employment with a think-tank that was comprised of 40% retired military. I started as a temp and they PUSHED me into the tech field saying that was the best opportunity for me at the time. They even sent me to a # of training classes to get all the basics and become qualified for the position they put me in.
Good military Officers/NCOs, no matter their position, feel like mentors to those that work for them or those they know might need some assistance/guidance to get ahead in life. I was fortunate to have that when I needed it early on in my career (both Military and IT). They even pushed me out the door as they knew there were better opportunities out there for me and more skills for me to learn. I think that is a rarity anywhere in the normal civilian world. --B

For now it's the best option, i love to drive that car. my beater is really getting on my nerves(ford escort wagon ewwwwww). I want to rip up and down harford rd. I cant wait! I am going to do some research about your company tonight and see if it's something I may consider whipping up a resume for.
Thanks, and sorry no bonus for interns. I have to change my class schedule around a little then I'll send a resume over. BTW for what it's worth his company has a nice building at the Mclean location.
I was reading last night about Booz Allen and their consulting for The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) during the 70s.
It was an interesting read and although A&P continued their decline it was an issue of upper management rather than Booz Allen's consulting. Those guys were moving down hill long before they reached out for an objective opinion from Booz Allen.
Sorry to go off topic I just thought it an interesting coincidence.

Did you know you just used a comma between 2 complete sentences? You could use a semi-colon instead. Just my 2 cents.

It was probably just a mistake... I'm a professional writing major about to graduate and I STILL make mistakes. Editing helps lol
On that note - I will be graduating in May with an English/Professional Writing B.A. and a minor in Political Science and Urban Affairs and Planning from Virginia Tech. Don't have much IT consultant experience but this past summer I did work for the state as a Management Analyst. If you think there could be a position for me then I'll send you my resume to check over.

Looks like the DC area is getting more jobs added each year. The great aspect of DC is all the contract gigs that pay mad loot (Use to be contracted by DoD via InfoTech). Hopefully it'll still be the case when I return to the area in the future.
From friends experiences, B.A.H. is a great place to work at. Benefits there are paramount to any other company around there. btw, Congrats.
