Toby, good luck with whatever you decide man. I have been in the same boat for about 9 months now... I have come to realization that someone will get an AWESOME deal if they bought either of our cars...

but I don't get why you guys would sell your cars after so much hard work and money has been put into them.

Because of how much of a pain in the @$$ is has become. When my engine blew... the choice between paying ANOTHER $8 - 15K to get a new one put in or selling it becomes a major financial decision. (Especially after getting screwed for $25k the first time around ...) It does not matter how much I have in the car, if I don't have any more money to put into it and it is broke... what are you supposed to do? Leave it in some parking lot for a year until I can get my finances straightened out..?

I am certainly not speaking for Toby... I am sure his situation is different then mine.

For what end goal or purpose if all your hardwork serves nothing but bring you a major headache? Sure it looks great n all, but like what Brent said, there's no point to owning something that is at a shop 24/7. Once you explore territories where few have been, things tend to blow up a lot. That's why my motor is still N/A otherwise I would've blown up a long time and started a whole buncha "FS" threads. Mod bug bites hard and once you're bitten you don't stop modding until it kills ya! Ever notice a large majority of owners mod these cars to the max and then immediately sell it right after they're done with no time to enjoy it?... then off with the next project? I've been in the scene for 8+ yrs... trend hasn't changed yet!

I think Kelly's clever, he just buys a Viper n calls it a day.

Etc. etc. you get the gist! Therefore you can work something out with the buyer and you guys can come down to a fair price. Buyer gets to keep exactly what he wants, you get the exact dollar amount you want, Mid-A gets the parts that the Buyer didn't want, so in the end: everybody wins!

BTW: PM me about those Zeals when the time comes =)

thats some funny ****

You know what, I actually respect the fact that you DO actually drive your car unlike certain people who build it and look at it. I'm on the same boat as you though: Mod = Headache... y not just buy something that has everything you want from the factory + warranty? Makes a lot more sense to me! =D

BTW, I contacted Steve for you about those doors and he said "as long as removal involves a chainsaw then i'd do it!" otherwise, he said there's no way in hell he's touching those doors again! He suggested for you to take it to a reputable bodyshop, supposedly they can work on those doors.

I was just messin with ya bro. Honestly, your car is beautiful and I hope you don't get rid of it. But you gotta do what you gotta do, and there does come the time when you just get sick of it. I've done it a few times myself and I opted to take the hit instead of the hassle of parting out. Parting out is great, but time just isn't there sometimes. And from my experience, selling a modded car is not an easy thing to do. I had an S4 that sat for 4 months before someone bought it. At that point, I just wanted it gone.

And if and when when you finally decide what you want, let me know, I have a few friends/customers who have been picking up some SICK exotics at the auctions for some pretty good prices lately. Examples within the last 2-3 weeks...... 2002 Ferrari 360 Modena F1 Yellow w/ Blk and yellow accented interior 16K mi. $108K. (ALL paperwork), 2006 Merc. Benz S65 Blk.on Blk V-12 Bi-Turbo 9K mi. $120K, 2007 Merc. Benz ML63 Silver on Blk.(not sure how much, but it only had 2500 mi on it). There were a couple other things during the weekdays when I wasn't there like a new Bentley Azure and a Gallardo, so Im not sure on the details of those other than they both were black.

The Manheim exotics and high-end auctions are on Thursdays from 10-4.

If you're seriously looking for something specific, let me know and they can keep an eye out for one for you. I have them looking for something for my dad as we speak. Their personal keeper is an 04 Lambo Murc. that is INSANE. I didn't even ask how much for that, but whatever it was Im sure it was WELL worth it. lol

Hey Toby, you ever consider just throwing a for sale sign in the window at shows? Maybe this spring, hit a couple of the big ones, and throw a sign in it. I know alot of people there roll with a fat pocket, and are willing to drop cash and drive it off on an impulse. Just an idea.

These cars only sell in the spring, a buddy of mine has his for sale for 3 months already with no bites even though he kept on dropping the price. March/early April would be the perfect time to start looking for a buyer.

Your just going to have to take a hit. But like one said above Put a for sale sign on it at shows would be your best bet.

I feel you on that. It gets annoying. After I get rid of my ***** I'm going to get something from the factory with similar power I attained with the Z(give or take 100 hp or so). Good luck with whatever you and Toby decide to do.

For me it's looking like a used Viper, new GTR, or maybe a used 348 or 355. I am going to keep my car for a while because it's been in different shops for about a year and half now. I can't wait to drive it around and I'm just really thankful for Arthur Williams at Frederick Nissan for getting everything together and getting it done right.
Toby and Brent try putting an ad in Dupont Registry and talk to Barret Jackson and set a reserve so you don't have to sell it if someone only bids for 30k. -My plans.

Hey Toby,
Long time no talk to bro. I really recommend you don't try to sell the car as a package....you'll take a huge loss doing it (I know from experience, and I had probably less than half of what you've put in yours). If you do decide to sell, strip it down to stock as much as you can and sell everything separately.

Can I ask what you're thinkin' about replacing it with? Hope everything's good with ya otherwise!
