Default That new car smell...

Here's a list of my recent considerations for a new ride, the Z will probably be traded but I am still unsure. Test driving this weekend hopefully. What would you guys choose if it was you. Practicality is not an issue neither is daily driveability, or the need to drive more than just myself and maybe one passenger. I have no children (only 24, way too young IMO) no wife/GF (sucks) and luckily I have other vehicles for bad weather/long distance drives.

all plans are on hold pending very good news

745li hands down, I own one, and have driven all the others... No comparison to the cars on your list, handling, acceleration, luxury, class, an looks it has the best all around appeal

because they make a much sexier SUV with the VQ called the FX but the Range is a much sexier truck, as well as truly capable to go offroad if necessary.

I'm leaning more and more towards the 745, I really should test drive one and see what I think.

right now I'm looking used... putting a big down payment on a used vehicle may be an option to combat the higher intrest rates. hmmmmm....

745's are getting a little common around my way since the used prices have dropped soooooo far. but still a favorite of mine

I am 100% German however Mercedes is not for me, nice car but too many stereo types for a young guy like myself. I'm partial to the CLS500 but dont think for a second I could afford that bad boy! LOL!! anyone I know that has went from BMW to Mercedes regrets it, and I don't want to make the same mistake unless I could buy the one that really floats my boat.

there are two versions of the E55 I believe, a four door and a convertible hard top similar to the SL500 or SL55. 495hp I think supercharged V8.

I kinda want something I can just get in and go, no one will think twice about the Range. No ricers reving at me, no amazed faces starring at me in the driver seat. and if it snows 4x4 FTW definetly beats my '89 trooper or '00 escort wagon.

alrite, I put in some paperwork for a '04 Land Rover Range Rover today... we will see what happens it's at the Autohaus in Cockeysville 29,000 miles Black w/ tan pretty ridiculous price. I still want to drive a 745 first.

Really depends on what you are looking for. Your list is all over the board..SUV (range), to sports car (M3), to luxury (745), back to sports car (porsche)...you need to decide what car category you are looking into first...then you will know which car you want within that category.

My pick would be the 745, if you could afford it...

Ps Range Rovers are rated the WORST vehicles on the road for reliability, and surprise, they are made by Ford

I wouldn't consider it all over the board, those are my choices. Sport, luxury, and truck and my favorite four that are in my price range... I picked my favorites and posted them up. The 335 IMO is pretty ugly, nice car yes, plenty of power, yes. Just not my cup of tea. The 335 is too bland for it's price tag and could use a makeover right from the factory, needs to be a little more aggressive looking. It's almost like a 325 the base of all base models exterior wise. The M3 is an excellent machine but there is a new version coming out and prices will probably drop on older models soon so it may be best to wait. The range may be "unreliable" but there are less on the road, statistics are only as good as the people responsible for creating them. A company that R&D's as well as tests it's technology and capabilitys with real world off roading an international events is ok in my book. I am a big fan of the 745, nice V8 power & torque plus all the ammenities to keep me happy and plenty of interior space. I like my space, I'm a pretty big guy. The Porsche is kind of I hate to use the words "last resort" but it is a non turbo version but thats about as good as it's gona get for me because I am not a ballin' a$$ baller (lol), just a random kid who saved up some $$ for just this sort of occasion. The truck rides nice, has plenty of ability to get up and go, and a pretty nice aftermarket but very pricey. The M3 looks better everyday, but my wallet cringes at the additional expense of insurance. I think the Range will keep me out of trouble the longest, and it's just so G** D*** nice inside and out! I'm just not worried about the category anymore, if I get an M3 I will beat it like I stole it, if I go with a 745 it will get me where I need to go and still be a damn fun ride. The Porsche and Range will be so refreshing if I get caught in bad weather RWD FTL in the rain!

Thanks for everyone's input so far!

If any Mod's are paying attention please change BMX to BMW!!! It's no bike!

From my experience with my Father's Range, I would steer clear. He had more problems with that car than any other, and the MPG blows.

Love the M3, but SMG in a DD sucks. I dont like it in my dads M, its rough unless you lift off the gas for the upshift.
