Is there a specific brand of radio i have to have, or are they all interchangeable??? Prob gonna pick up a pair of Motorola radios from wally world at some point before Sunday.

 

I believe as long as it's a basic two way radio, you should be okay regardles of brand. Some have weather band and longer/shorter ranges. Probably depends how fancy you want to go. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, don't want to give bad information....

 

My concers is the Motorola one has "quiet talk" where it wont allow other brand radios to interfere. I'd think that woudl be bad for what we are using them for since not everyone has the same radio.

 

Yep, it might not be the best choice then. G-Zilla mentioned something about verizon and motorola "Q". Don't know if it's what you're speaking of or not. I'm using the cheapies (borrowed) for the day.

right on, i gota be up around 5am to get ready and be out by 5:30am... but i cant sleep now

 

My Q is my cell...lol. My radios are packed up..sorry all. But trust me...there will be littel time to grab the radio when you are doing 30mph in a 15mph turn...I almost ate it twice in Jan, but the roads were wet and we didnt slow down...lol.
