Default $250 (weekend) for a clutch/flywheel installation

EDIT: Now charging $300 obo
I figured, since ive taken out my transmission over 8 times now.. im pretty confident that i have it down to a science.

So, my best time without any help is 5 1/2 hours using the military base's auto skills center ( has all the tools required )

I'm sure the 350z community is very capable of doing this on their own, but for those who can't do it, and don't wanna pay so much..

I would like to volunteer to do it at a much cheaper price.

If anyone want a transmission swap, change the clutch or flywheel,
just PM me, and i will see if i can do it over the weekend. (SAT or SUN)

if i start on it at 9am. i will have it done by 4pm

(I follow the 350z/G35 manual's EVERY TORQUE SPECS)

I do this to make a little bit on the side, and because i've been ripped off paying around $500 for the cheapest shops to do this work.

Sincerely,
Ur local Tuner... who will be hungry after installing your clutch/flywheel... so buy me mc donalds after

Guys this is a great deal if he knows what he is doing. I just found a guy here locally that is willing to help out like this and he said that this is about what he would charge for a 6hr job. OP good luck and thanks for looking out for the Z community.

oh.. by the way..i live in Southern Maryland ..

distances and time

Centerville, Fairfax : 1.25 hours away

Rockville, Germantown: 1.5 hours away

Waldorf, Upper Malboro: 30-45 minutes away

Richmond, 2 hours away (sorry)

Norfolk, Va Beach .. ( Haaaah! in a sarcastic tone)

If you have a base near by that has a garage with a lift,... maybe.. just maybe... (cuz im confortable with my base's garage.. i know they have the exact tools i need to get it done fast + its close to home)

i once paid a local mechanic to install clutch/flywheel for $500 at his own home (had his own lift, car garage. (he works as in a tranmission shop)

and he didn't tighten all the bolts down w/ tread lock (the flywheel bolts)

and one came loose and rattled all around between the clutch and flywheel, causing it to get stuck (wouldn't engage, or disengage)

since it destroyed my new clutch , he's doing me a favor of rebuilding my spare transmission

yup... over 15 years experience but never worked on a VQ35 rwd

Unless you are going to warrenty the work you do. I would not suggest this last statement. If you want me to delete this let me know.

that last statement is about some else that i paid to do the work... he didn't buy me a new clutch, but he rebuilt a spare transmission i had.

i can guarantee that i will do the job right (torque specs, and thread lock)
, or i will do it again..

simply.. i will do what i can in my best power to get the clutch/flywheel installed right... or i go back and do it again

I rather have them watch me do the work so they can learn on their own, and wouldn't get stuck being a victim like me.. (paying $500 and having a clutch face destroyed)

this is from my first install in Jan/ Feb

hope it helps a little...just a few pics..

if people aren't comfortable paying $250 for an install, then thats on them... I'm just doing this for extra cash doing what i like to do on the weekends..
especially since i feel like i got this down to a science

I'm looking to install a JWT flywheel and clutch in my 2004 Z in a few weeks. I think I might want to take you up on your offer.
